The other tenants that formed part of this legal challenge sound like total nightmares
Don't ya just love it when folks who have no respect for the law when a judgment goes against them suddenly turn to the law for protection when someone does something to them that they don't like?!
I'd love to hear a judge say "I find that Mr Hall is entitled to remain in the property. Further to that, I advise Leeds CC to pay as much heed to this judgment as Mr Hall paid to the noise abatement order in 2008. Enjoy your cardboard box Mr Hall"0 -

LOL.
Are you suggesting that nobody had the right to express their thoughts through freedom of expression prior to the baloney thay is so-called Human Rights?
The funny thing is that under the looney liberal-left's view of the world, we can say far less than we could in the good old days when the thought police weren't out to get us.
Anyone remember Love Thy Neighbour and In Sickness and in Health?
Try speaking your mind about various sexual lifestyles, religions or races and see how far it gets you these days. The 'liberals' have promoted deviant, immoral lifestyles whilst silencing true free speech.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -

Mmm, would have to disagree there actually...
I know plenty of people on benefits who are right-wing, anti-immigration, and who believe water/MMR/ immigrants give you cancer (along with supporting some of the other nonsense "causes" the Daily Hate likes to champion)0 -

Thus spoketh, or rather typeth, a true, dyed-in-the-wool Daily Mail Drooler.0 -

No but.... all the ECHR did is put down in writing the "rights" that you seem to take for granted.
The controversy is not in documenting that all humans should be entitled to some basic fundamental rights. The controversy is that some very priviledged people have been permitted to abuse the convention to get their way on some very trivial matters.0 -

Article 1 – Obligation to respect human rights
Article 2 – Right to life
Article 3 – Prohibition of torture
Article 4 – Prohibition of slavery and forced labour
Article 5 – Right to liberty and security
Article 6 – Right to a fair trial
Article 7 – No punishment without law
Article 8 – Right to respect for private and family life
Article 9 – Freedom of thought, conscience and religion
Article 10 – Freedom of expression
Article 11 – Freedom of assembly and association
Article 12 – Right to marry
Article 13 – Right to an effective remedy
Article 14 – Prohibition of discrimination
Article 17 – Prohibition of abuse of rights
Article 18 – Limitation on use of restrictions on rights
and the world will be a better place? Which of them will you remove? Which of them will you make people earn?
While your concerns are valid, removing Human Rights is not the place to address them. The things you want are founded on Human Rights. And I totally reject your suggestion that these Human Rights are earned. Once you go down that route, we will have Daily Mail think about who has earned their Human Rights - you will have someone deciding that criminals don't deserve a fair trial or deciding that people who have not confessed to their alleged crimes have not earned their Human Rights, so it is OK to torture them.
Again, your concerns are valid, but your attack on Human Rights is completely wide of the mark. So, stop your sloppy thinking and work out what the problem is. It is not Human Rights.
....and what happens when MY Human Rights conflict with someone else's Human Rights??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
All of the human rights laws are simply garbage. Just garbage. They are designed to line the pockets of ambulance chasing lawyers and those who think that society owes them a living.
Not a single part of the human rights garbage promotes responsibility for your own actions. Human rights laws are defeatist by their very nature. They dictate that someone else is responsible for you and you have no responsibility towards anyone or anything.
And we are where we are today because of the looney liberal-left. Of that there is no doubt.
Under the wonderful Margaret Thatcher we created captains of industry, entrepreneurs and businessmen who kept our country afloat and the United Kingdom was the envy of the world.
Under left-wing liberalism we are the toilet of the world - a toilet bowl to all and sundry who come here specifically for handouts. And the liberal-left don't care because the majority of them are on handouts or in public sector non-jobs paid for by hard-working taxpayers in the private sector.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -
If you are not in favour of human rights, it should be no pain for you to waive yours.maninthestreet wrote: »....and what happens when MY Human Rights conflict with someone else's Human Rights??Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I appreciate that people have human rights, but where are the landlords rights? People have said in newspapers etc that they actually come to the UK or if British fail to pay rent as our laws on this are so lenient.
Unfortunatley, it seems that people who are going to work, abiding the law etc are at the bottom of the human rights list.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0
