just looked into it, I earn £6 a month to much to get the low rate of pay so the double the price!
The lowest threshold is £120 and under per week, you said you work 16 hours at 10p above NMW, this is roughly about £96 per week, you would be in the lowest category.
You would have to show wage slips to your local council to prove your income.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -

I will have to check with me mum, might be worth ringing them and asking them why I'm paying the next rate up.0

You can double check the entire household's entitlement to benefits on the Turn2us online benefit calculator.
How does paying towards the mortgage work in practice?
I know that with Local Housing Allowance paid to the tenant of the property, they get a deduction from it, for the non-dependents who have an earned income, so does it work that way? I've just never come across a deduction mentioned before for a non-dependent whose head of the household is on the SMI scheme and gets their mortgage interest paid by the public purse.
Is it the case that your mother is charging you approx £50 per week keep, and then additionally asking for you to make up that deduction made to her SMI? In other words, is your mother hammering you for money?0 -

If you mean WTC the criteria is 25 and over working 30 hours, if he had children there would be different criteria of the one you mentioned.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
