If you tell them the circumstances of the accident, claim or not, they'll probably cancel your insurance on the spot (see that "never had insurance cancelled, refused or ..... " clause at the start of every quote? Yeah.)
Of course if you don't tell them or lie about the circumstances then it gets even worse0 -
Goodness me - After reading this, I am so glad that after I repeatedly failed my test, and despite huge huge temptation, I walked past my car on the way to the train station and bus station in all weathers, sometimes knowing that (when we had all the snow) there was no guarantee of any trains and buses turning up!
I can almost sympathise with the OP's partner though as the temptation was very great."Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." Aldous Huxley.

If you pay yourself you'll keep any no claims bonus, because its a no claims bonus not a no accident bonus. The insurance company will find out about the accident because the police have been involved, I think, so you won't be able to keep quiet about it to them. I'd be more concerned with all the convictions affecting the insurance premium, or whether you can get insurance at all, than the accident tbh.0

Others avoid the temptation to commit dishonest criminal offences. It's not really that hard is it?0 -

Glad it is only almost sympathise with someone who breaks the law, imagine if the driver had hit a pedestrian0 -
OP I think you seriousle need to see a solicitor that deals with driving offences,
we can all offer advice/criticism but you really need to know THE LAW as it relates to youIMOJACAR

so why did you let your wife drive alone even though she was on a provisional ?Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

Is it an absolute certainty that my wife will be charged? The policewoman who took the details said "If you are charged, then you will need to pay a fine, and possibly appear in court in addition to a possible ban".
Althought this may become a TWOC case, can the police still charge her even if I dont intend to press charges?0
