well i spent a few magical hours in the garden .. got the compost sorted (not the shed sadly) got a whole load of rubbish cleared ( non of it ours it had all blown in from elsewhere) a bit of the dreaded weeding cutting out and sorting of the willow that had died and generally enjoying the sun shine ... hubby helped with the heavy stuff he started shaking whilst doing some of it but i think that could be a mixture of the tablets and the fact he hasnt done (been able to do) anything for the last month ...

came in just in time for the rain and had a quick sort out of the finances ... i still have £83 left to buy food for the rest of the month ... no more money left for take aways at all ( so meal tonight with son HAD BETTER BE the last one till the 15th of next month) £35 left for diesel for the rest of the month ( i think i will need to review this for next month tbh) £20 for hubby to get to work ( so that will go to diesel instead as i dont think he will be back at work anytime soon) £15 left for swimming

but the thing i have noticed is there are things i have spent money on that wernt budgetted for like fags ( hubby used to rarely smoke but now smokes due to stress etc) the car repairs, garden stuff but thats about it ... so things could be better but could also be alot worse ...

well last night was a good night for spending time with the family ... we had a great catch up .. husband struggled quite a bit throughout the night with the noise and the amount of people etc ..i thought we wouldve had to go home after the main meal as he really started to struggle at that point ... but he managed till after coffe's so that was a good sign

the food and service however were quite frankly appaling ... son sent his plate back and refused to eat it all together so they made him something different ... we were there for nearly 3 hours ... and that was just waiting for service ... it took over 15 mins for them to take the order then the starters fell and smashed on the floor so we needed to get them replaced ... the mains didnt arrive together at all and with son sending his back it landed up the three of us ate at different times .... we wont be back there .. but we all really enjoyed ourselves to the extent that we have agreed to do this once every two months atleast ... and do something else together often ... like next month it's king's lear son and i are really looking forward to that as we love shakespear hubby is sadly going along for the ride he he he

today i am trying to decide between doing some more of the garden and going for a walk ... part of me wants to do the garden as we have so much to get done ( and garden's are like the fourth road bridge never ending) but part of me also would love the pleasure of getting out there and seeing some more of nature and stretching my legs

have been thinking about how we are going to tackle this whole takeaway issue... and i was thinking well we have nsd'd on mse so why not a ntd for me ? with that in mind till the 15th of next month i am only having ntd's ....

oh and i have just sat down and figured out the gas bill for the last month .... £235 just for gas alone ... i know that hubby has been off of work and has been turning the heating on early then going back to bed for a few hours till it heats up ... but i have just sat down and shown him how much it is costing and how we cant afford that much of a bill so he needs to stop putting it on ... i can see me going round behind him turning it off for the next month or so till he goes back to work

Hi Butti thanks for dropping by

sadly our boiler /heating system is as old as the house (over thirty years) there isnt a thermostat thing ... the boiler has a 1-6 thing on it and as much as i have been able to i have kept it on 1 ... but if i need to heat the water or anything ( it isnt a combi boiler) i turn it up for a short time so that we have hot water .... although our house isnt very old it is very cold ... we dont have much insulation at all ... i have had companies out that promise me they can get my house insulated and that we will be warmer but t hen they arrive and no there is nothing they can do (single brick or something)... last year we got the heating all updated with new radiators fitted in several rooms and thermostatic valves on the radiators... we spoke to the guy at the time about getting a new boiler maybe but were advised against it as ours is a very old system that has very very few things that can go wrong with it

i think really it's gonna be a case of dont put the fire on unless your really cold ... and if you can leave the heating off for a few hours perday ... till he goes back to work then it's back to normallity ( i dont like heat so rarely have it on)

hi el nice to see you back

Hair brushed, make up on and budget in place sounds good. All budgets need adjusting for reality but at least it shows up where you are spending your money.

I have little budget pots for holidays, gym, car, gifts and clothes for the first time ever this year - and it feels good! It used to be a disaster / guilt / stress time before whenever spent money on those - it is now planned in
