    Hello El

I haven't been around too much this past couple of years but I'm slowly immersing myself back into DFW land. I've missed you all!

Your plans look really exciting. I think I know where you are coming from with the ISA. My husband has two (1 stocks and shares and 1 cash) or maybe it's a joint thingy but he puts £50 in each month and of that £25 goes to risk free and £25 to risky!

    Hi all,

sorry i still cant do multiple quotes ... you would think after all this time here i would wouldnt you lol ...

after having a wonderful chat with some fantastic mse'rs last night i feel much happier all round .. amazing how people can lift you up isnt it ?

well today i got my wage slip through i got the HUUUUUUGE wage of £894 and that was with 20 hours overtime ... wow dont i get paid well

anyway i am going to pay off the £41 whatever to get the debt to a nice round £60k ...

after reading souks grocery challenge i felt ashamed about the amount of money we spend on food ( and i wonder why i am fat lol) ... last month hubby and i spent over £200 on meals out ... to be honest it has been like this for a few months now and although i dont feel in anyway guilty about it for the following reason.. it now has to stop things have moved on

    Justification for eating out ALOT

well hubby and i as a few of you are aware have been going through alot of marriage issues .... the drink, the drugs, the other woman etc etc so since this really started kicking off ohhh about September/October 2010 now we have found that when we discuss things at home we would land up arguing ... so we started going out for meals and chatting on m.s.n i found it quite interesting how he could opne up via a chat facility where he couldnt when we were face to face (that was when most things were sorted) ... but we also found that sometimes it was just a case of "right come on , lets go to the carvery and get something to eat" it seemed to take alot of the pressure off of us dont get me wrong it was very very cheap meals we went to a carvery £5.25 for one of us £3.99 for the other (vegetarian) with our free icecream (voucher) drink of water (free) and one limitless pepsi thingy £2.25 ... or we would go to pizza hut when they had a deal thing on 3 course meal for £11 each water for me (free) limitless drink for him £3 (i think) ...

and one of the fantastic things about it is hubby now makes alot of pizzas at home ( never knew they were so easy and cheap to make) he also makes the cookie dough desert from pizza hut ( again easy quick and cheap) so we dont go to pizza hut no more as its more tasty at home..

but this has to stop ... this month i have given us a limit of £40 for takeaway food ... our month will start on the 15th of every month ... but the funny thing is so far and were only on the 24th weve spent £25 on takeaways ...(kebaba late last night .... might i add none of it for me this time)... so be prepared for screaming as the month goes on lol

i have also given us a £200 limit on shopping for the month ... i actually want to get this lower than that but last monthwe spent £300 ... (so over £500 was spent on food scandulous i think) ... i would like to eventually get this to £150 a month but i think i will see how the £200 goes first

i have been quite lucky selling my books on amazon and as they are study books ( which is why i think they are selling) i am getting not too bad money for them ... the last two i sold i got over £60 for so i am going to half the money between the saving ( for a car) and the debt ( mortgage i think i decided on)

i'm trying to think of other things i have got in mind for dealing with our debt and savings ... you know it feels so much better doing the two at once ... yes i know debt has to be the priority but knowing that when we are finally out of debt we will have some (small) amount of savings feels good as well

    Hi Elantan

Really great to see you back. I love your 100 month challenge and it's good that you are figuring out what you will aim for once all the debt is cleared - will give you something to focus on.
