i would guess a place like this with millions of contributors could start a revolution- i wont lie and say i dont enjoy a drink because i feel more relaxed in life with it but i now know how to respect it because the society around me doesnt encourage it! you can buy alcohol from most corner shops here but it is expensive against the local wages which limits it attractiveness! plus bars are not numerous! people go out to eat and have a drink with a meal and few places just serve alcohol and you aways sit down-i think British society has lost its way on alcohol and there needs to be education on a scale equal to smoking--alcohol kills and ruins lives!--

i think alcohol can kill and it can ruin lives ... but i also know alcohol can be fun and relaxing it is all about getting the balance right i feel ... i think the alcohol consumption within our society is more a reflection on the society ... more of a sign of something deeper that is missing sadly

i think your dead right--happiness is sadly missing in th uk.--i go home with such eagerness every year because i miss my family and the greeness of britain but at the end i always cant wait to get away from the anger and glum faces that leave me asking myself why i do keep coming 'home'--all that keeps me happy there is being alcohol fuelled-sorry to be frank-but greg's my name

no need to apologise i agree with you .... happiness comes from within( ok not all happiness but generally) not consumption ... but for some reason alot of our society forgets this ... not all of it ... but enough to make it noticeable

i do wonder how many women on websites still list shopping as their hobby--never astounded me that people could find that enjoyable and admit to it!it seemed the proccupation of making oneself happy in the uk- i also wonder how many of them are now in the debt free wannabees??-

--i have always been a deep saver and cautious when i make significant buys so the purchase of alcohol has always been a poor investment!-i regret the hangover but lament the money wasted even more!-my aim in life is to save a big percentage of my wage EVERY month regardless of apparent 'need'-i have always travelled but always done it on a budget and saved back home!--i have relocated to turkey and set up a business but saved significantly during the interceeeding 5 years--its not something i have developed from chatting here--its behaviour that is engrained

I want to reply in depth to that one .... But am on the stupid iPhone ... If I miss stuff out will get back ...

I think alot of what you are saying has merit ...alot of people are fortunate to have lives important lessons taught to them as a child till it becomes second nature .... Sadly not all have been so lucky .... Which is where sites like this become invaluable ... I am lucky in the sense I have always been not too bad with money ... I am in debt but it has never been unmanageable debt ( I just always want it paid faster) however since joining Mse I have learned so many wee extra tricks that have helped me become better at managing our money ... Sadly there are alot of people that havnt had the chance to understand money and how it can affect our lifestyle choices

People may take out pay day loans etc as they want / must have that something that for that one second buys them a happy feeling .... Sometimes people feel pressured into having the latest gadget or must have clothes etc .... I have to admit I don't really understand that myself as I loathe shopping ( always have done .... Except buying books ... My Achilles heel) ... But when we had a prime minister before that said we will spend our way out of recession I think that spoke volumes as to what society as a whole thinks about money

As I say sorry am on the stupid iPhone so alot of this won't make sense ... Will try and fix it out when next on laptop

well yesterday i went to basket making group ... i really enjoy the process of making a basket ... i';m not very good at it at all but i will get better with more practise ..

i brushed my hair for most of this week so next week i am going to add in the extra of cleansing toning and moistuizing my face as well as brushing my hair ... baby steps lol ... dont get me wrong i do cleanse and tone etc but it is very sporadic at best ... i will do it for three days in a row then not do it again for a few weeks ... so i am going to start with brushing my hair every day and cleansing my face etc ever other day (for a few weeks) till eventually i will be doing it every day ... then i think i will work on the make up idea

we were taken out for our dinner last night by the inlaws ... lovely meal loads of veggies for me so yay but we need to stop eating out .. it's so hard though when people offer lol

money wise things are going ok i havnt started paying the bills etc yet as no more wages are due till 15th so ... will need to deal with all of that then ... things are going to be hard for the next few months as well due to hubby being off work for 2 months and me for 1 month ... but i know we will manage

If you know things are going to be hard, financially, you can allow for it and incorporate it......and I am sure you will do whatever needs to be done!
