Ok well I have just started this one, had a busy day but managed the second day task easily enough, was nice having a sparkly sink this morning but after mince and dumplings for dinner I have a stack of washing up to do before I can make it shine again :( Loosing will power and it's only day 2. I have done a shed load of washing as my 5 year old has been off school all day poorly (reason for lots of extra washing and not getting much done) and helped DP fit new toilet etc, but not a lot else :( hangs head in shame and promising to do better tomorrow.
One day I might be more organised...........

Shell - well done , how do you feel today though? I bet proud and sore!
Lil-me - You don't have to start off with a big rush of effort, it took time for the mess to build up, it will take time for it to clear. It is about making little changes over time that will slowly snowball and make a difference. Took me about four months to get things to the point when I stopped being ashamed of the volume of clutter and mess. Keep working on the small things, clear the kitchen every day, do a deep clean on the bathroom and then you just need to spend two minutes a day to keep on top of it. That then frees up time to start on other things and stops you from being depressed every time you go in there. HTH

I lost all of yesterday for various boring reasons so didn't get to say goodbye to TNG, witness Shell's epic adventure or even do any of my own cleaning.

    Jobs for today
OH to take the trailer to the tip - Boogied it full again! Will no doubt fill it again this week with the packing.
Teenage SSs have been asked to clean anything out of their room that they are no longer bothered about regardless of cost or practicality. I shall then go through it and recycle or fling as appropriate. I have said I will put it on e-bay for them and they can have the profit - a good idea stolen from someone else on here, can't remember who but thanks
Lots of washing, and change five lots of bedding
Wash the smelly dogs beds, and bribe someone to wash the smelly dogs (or I will take them to the dog wash machine at the petrol station.....)

    Have a good day everyone

I ruthlessly bin things, my lovely OH refuses to bin anything he could ever in extreme circumstance want again. My policy has been to hide things in the coal shed for six months, and then bin them if he hasn't noticed it is missing.

Morning all, my computer troubles have got worse in the past couple of days  , so I'll only be here sporadically, and won't be able to post lists very easily. Upside is that I won't be being distracted by MSE, so may actually get lots done :D

Hex, I made your cappuccino cake last night for friends, and it was yummy! Thanks for that. Have you added the recipe to the main recipe list?

Off to continue tidying the kichen.

  • morning everyone.... Sunday is my day of rest :D No housework for me today - well, I'll do some ironing tonight, but we're getting ready to go out for the day, so couldn't do any hw even if I wanted to!!!

Update since Friday is that my sink has stayed SHINY! Even trained my OH to keep it that way - also shined the bathroom sink up too :D I done a few odd jobs yesterday and friday night too, so my updated full list is shown below - I've left off the rooms/areas I've yet to start with.

I also started on my control journal that FL suggests you do - have found it really useful and I think will help me get control of my house back! Hoping then the rest of my life will follow!!!!!! :T

Have asked DS to sort out the tip that is his bedroom - he's decided to get arty/crafty, making christmas cards - and there is stuff everywhere

Hope by next weekend I'll be decluttered, and be able to start the "daily" routines that I have marked down, the weekly ones and the zone thing that I've read about :o
