I see it is a lady's thread ;) but me too, I have been a sugar addict for too many years! I eat chocolate everyday and a slice of cake each time I drink tea or coffee. It has been my routine and yes I have a few pounds to lose!
So I checked out Dr. Desmaisons's website and I am going to start eating a potato before going to bed! Thanks for the tip Oceansprayk
It doesn't matter if it's all women who've replied so far Liam - weight issues aren't a purely female domain ;)

I don't know how much weight you have to lose or how much of a weight problem you've had in your life so far but there are 7 steps to implement - one at a time - so don't just take 1 bit of it if weight is a large issue for you ;)

Need to get sorted as i am tired all the time too.... disaster zones let along weight in wrong places and I know if I sroted out muy sugar i would be okay and i dont need to lose loads its just my eating habits. ......

It's not just about the potato, it's about eating a small potato and its skin 3 hours after dinner before going to bed. Apparently, there is a chemical reaction happening that prevents from wanting to eat sugar the following day.

i would like to read more on this, as eating carbs late at night messes up your growth hormone

    • Eating high-glycemic carbs (pasta, potatoes, white rice, sugar, etc.) right before bed will spike your insulin levels and lower nighttime Human Growth Hormone production. This is very bad, because not only will lowering nighttime Human Growth Hormone production make you fat, but it will also speed up the again process and make you look old. About 80% of this fat-burning and anti-aging "super hormone" is released during sleep.

Breaking carb addiction is very simple but takes a moderate amount of discipline for 2-3 weeks. Reduce your carb intake to 100-150g a day and make sure you only eat slow release low GI carbs. Bread and sweetys where the main reason I hit 34 stone, after eating a 3k cal pizza I would then crave a huge amount of sweetys :(

Not had a single carb craving in over 13 months now and as someone else pointed out sweet food actually tastes vile to me now :T

I've received the book too but quite daunted by the amount of info it seems to contain.
Can anyone who's read it for the first time give me their opinion on it - did you find it easy to read and take in the information? ;)

    :o:o:o

All I've done so far is take it out of the envelope and have a flick through to make sure no pages were missing. Then I scoffed three quarters of a packet of Rich Tea biscuits whilst pretending the book had become invisible.

    :o:o:o

I'll get my butt in gear and report back, though I can't promise that it will be any time soon.
