Help! Problems organising my daughters 18th party

Wow, didn't realise these days there is so much to think about! My 16th (many years ago!!) was in the upstairs hall of a St.Johns ambulance centre with my parents sat in the downstairs kitchen area - my mum thought she'd be "down with the kids" and bought 2 large bottles of shandy lol!! Didn't stop the guests going down the fire escape and coming back from spar with booze - but then nobody got totally pished, it was more about having a sneaky bit of cider or alcopops back then and not who could get the most vodka etc down their neck.
My 18th was in a local rugby club pub, no bouncers or anything like that needed! It was a combination of friends and family. The only worry was that it ended up being the same day of princess Di's funeral, and a lot of establishments were closing for the whole day but the club said they'd be staying open. I'd suggest a hall maybe, somewhere that doesn't have a licensed bar. It'll mean you'll have to do your own catering etc but not too many problems in the booking being turned away.Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....0 -
Three's only 1 venue where we live that will allow 18ths but its a golf club so pricy to hire and they take a £1000 bond and if 1 person is sick you don't get it back as my friend found out after her daughter's 18th0
