Iphone vs Andriod phones

I've just upgraded my phone today - it was a choice between the Iphone 4 and Desire HD.
In the end I went for the Desire HD because:- It was cheaper and easier to insure
- Better UI (IMO)
- Removable storage
- I dont like what Apple are doing taking a large cut of app developers profits (what does this mean for the future of Iphone app development?)
- Flash support
- I belive app developers will start to favor the Android platform as it becomes even more popular

Lol more free Apps dont make me laugh the iPhone has probably at leats 4 times the ampint of Apps than Android. There is also a vast majority of ones that are free.
Slow down there phanboy.
Apple has 350,000 currently, while Android has 200,000. I suspect that these figures will change significantly in the next 6 months due to Apple charging 30% of developers money, along with the exponential sales of Android enabled phones.0 -
Well if I go Android at least I've made a decision about which phone sort of. I've settled on the Samsung Galaxy S although I may wait as there's a dual chipset quad core Galaxy S 2 in the wings which was just announced in the Barcelona World Mobile Congress and due to be released soon. Battery life on the HTCs is a concern and the main let down.
I must admit though that the inability to use memory cards in a device (iPhone 4) that can shoot HD video is a bit of a concern - obviously if you get the 32GB iPhone 4 it isn't but then that IS silly money and more than it'd cost to put a 32GB microSD card in an Android phone.0 -
Also they are starting to get cross platform apps that can be written for an Android and run, at the moment, on MeeGo operating systems.
In a few months it will be fully cross platform (on Symbian, Windows, mac, Linux and jailbroken iphones) once that happens you'll find more developers stating with Android versions before porting to iOS.
Personally Android looks like the better option, Yes there's some problems with some phones, but those can be easily fixed.
There's a very lively community in developing and supporting apps as well as the OS itself.
I run a custom OS on my phone, it's faster than a stock HTC Desire HD or iPhone ^_^Laters

Not to mention the iPhone5 with new iOS will be announced in a few weeks time...
Making the current range of iphones obsolete (well the 3gs will not be supported) and the new iOS won't run as well on an iPhone4. Also with no downgrade after users upgrade the OS iPhone4, users will be left with a slightly crippled phone with the only choice will be to either upgrade or void warrenty to get a working phone... lol ^_^Laters
