Blue badges can be used by any number of different conditions ranging from the visibly obvious to the impossible to tell - I qualified for a blue badge last year despite being 25 years old! (note i didn't have one, but qualified for one) Doesn't matter a jot if you would have moved or not, you were 100% in the wrong.

Really? Do you have any kids?
I'm lucky that the big Tesco near me has lots of trollies that are suitable for a newborn but the shopping centre I use most of the time rarely has them. Given a newborn can't hold their head until around 4 months and even then may not be able to sit unaided in a trolley seat, just where do you expect the little one to stretch out ....... inbetween a bag of spuds and the toilet rolls in the trolley
Yes, four. And a large people carrier. Stretch your little one out in a sling. Lovely cuddle time, too. Much nicer than keeping him all squashed in a car seat, straining his little back.0 -

Thanks, you've made my morning so far. I laughed and sprayed coffee everywhere.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
People are quick to crucify people on here.
OP clearly states there were several other BB spaces available...so in essence any BB car has a space to use. Yet an old BB dipshi7 turns up and plays up, yet it's the OP that is the new Saddam.

I thought that you needed to be unable to walk 50 meters unaided to qualify for a blue badge ?
I don't see the OP as that bad, he was still in the car, the other people didn't know if he was (or anyone in that car was) disabled in any way ?

As there is only a limited amount of disabled spaces in our tesco's i have seen people that have wanted the disabled space but as they was all full they went and found a normal parking space, so if they can do this it just goes to show they can do it all the time. Now i know someone in a wheelchair and they have gone over tesco's and found all the disabled spaces taken so as there was someone sat in the car she asked if they didn't mind moving as she had to get her wheelchair out, so the man replied i'm entitled to this space as as my wife is disabled as she cannot walk far, so he wouldn't move so she sat in the car waiting for someone to move and this women came from town and got in the same car see asked to move, now she said she has she see's this women in town everyday and she don't look like she has problems walking.0

At the risk of being contentious... I'm not in the least disgruntled about disabled parking bays, nor have I ever parked in one... but I do wonder if the proportions are right. I went to my local big shopping area recently (Gunwharf in Portsmouth in case you're familiar with it). The carpark obviously gets very busy at weekends. Despite there being very few 'normal' places left the disabled bays were less than half full. I think this is common; there always seem to be a plethora of disabled bays free wherever you are. Gunwharf carpark's well designed and it's easy to find the few spaces left but as a general point, are the proportions of disabled v 'normal' correct?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Unfortunately I've been in 2 car accidents and a sling isn't an option for meSwap you a 3 door Civic for your MPV? The car was bought long before I even considered having kids and now that they've come along I can't afford to replace the car. Trying to open a 3 door car in todays tight spaces is a nightmare.
And apologies if I came across as a bit strong - you caught me having some serious baby movements last night while I was replying. I don't like kids being in the trolley although I did let DS do it but that was back when he couldn't walk and therefore his shoes were clean.0 -
My mum is registered disabled and on a recent shopping trip to Asda, we were unable to find a disabled parking space. Some of the spaces were taken up by drivers sitting in their cars. It's all well and good saying "You only have to ask and I'll move etc", but where do you park your car whilst you stop, get out and ask that inconsiderate person to move? You shouldn't have to do this.
However, there were plenty of parent/child spaces available though... maybe I should have just parked in these instead?"He who asks questions cannot avoid the answers"0 -

Try using your brain before posting, then there's a vague chance you'll post something worthwhile.0
