At our local Tesco we park on the painted island in the Taxi and Bus area if it's a quick in and out. No one cares and we are taking no ones space.

What did you want me to do park in front of someone car and run in tesco's, now if i did that and it was your car what would you have said.

You can drop around whenever you like......it wouldn't be pleasant for you though :)

So, you don't actually know if your Mrs is fat or lazy......is she imaginary then?
    BTW.......I don't hide behind anything.

Can you stop being such a tool? Really no need for that or your earlier inflamatory comments. Is this your place? Is that why it won't be pleasant?

Why not park it in a normal space and let her go out and then come back???

  • I find it highly annoying when people park in the Mother & Child spaces - there are some supermarkets that operate a badge scheme for these. A friend of mine, she always has a 3 year old with her and sometimes a 5 & 6 year old too, has given up trying to get one of these spaces in our local Asda car park as they are normally taken by either cars with not a child seat in sight, often young men dashing in to get lunch or cigarettes etc, or disabled cars - they prefer to park there because it is nearer the bus stop!!! If we parked in one of their spaces because it was nearer the town centre they would be the first to complain.

And no, we are not taking advantage of Asda free parking - it is a town centre car park.

Who disabled the cars? is that the penalty for parking where you shouldn't?:rotfl:

When my dad was alive he had a blue badge in the last couple of years or so of his life. When he gave up his car I used it in my car if I took him anywhere - he kept it anyway. However, it was additionally useful for a period of time when he had to drive me round when I broke my leg and couldn't drive or walk. There is no sort of badge that I know of to help people with temporary disabilities - why on earth not? It wasn't hard to see that I had difficulty in getting about... the crutches and cast/Airboot sort of indicated it!

I might get flamed here though... because I cannot see why people with children need to be close to the door of a supermarket. I can understand the need for wider spaces, to get pushchairs out, etc. However, surely having children doesnt mean that you cant walk! Why are these spaces not at the back of the carpark, where there are less cars anyway, so safer if children dash out.

Well the spaces are near the door because carparks are very very very very dangerous places and ickle babies can run out and get killed by big bad cars, so the less time mum has to drag the screaming brats the less chance of the little monsters causing aggro.

So, you admit that you abuse the blue badge scheme, but when someone else gets a parking space closer to the doors it's a problem.

The world revolves around you then.
  • I would never park in a disabled space and if I saw someone doing it I would probably have a go even if there were spare spaces. As others have said people shouldn't have to ask you to move.

And as for the fact that it can't be enforced on private land I don't think that should make any difference. They're called morals.

You're just lazy and ignorant if you park in disabled spaces.

This isnt abusing the blue badge system. As long as the blue badge holder is in the vehicle and it is not out of date then its fine. However, having worked as an adminstrator of this system, I know that there are many people who do abuse it ie con their doctor into believing that they can only walk a short distance.
