Hi, no one is a "posting pain" here, ever. this board has stopped me and others from falling over the edge, it's the same for you and others who will join after you - Thank God! don't fret on that score!
yes we researched a lot,it's a lot to take in isn't it? i was soooo prepared emotionally for BR,our situation was pretty dire, but our IP got it through! Thank goodness.
...you're here now, ready to get yourselves sorted out,be kind to yourself...what would you say to YOU if you were looking at a friend??? you'd probably give her a hug and tell her she's doing well - you are,big hug!
we sent our proposal back by special delivery so it was next day delivery, the date was set for about 2 weeks after they'd got it back. things are moving forward for you. :T
now stand firm& keep talking to your hubby if you get frightened, i cried buckets.. i probably kept the tissue factory in overtime! if not ans. the phone is best for you leave it to ring or off the hook.
this bit is very stressful:o but it will be ok once you get to your date.
big hug x0 -

Thank you so much FavDaughter!! You always post with reassurance and encouragement and that means a lot to me. I am, by nature a very insecure soul. My motto is 'expect the worse and you won't be too disappointed when it happens'!! Absolutely the wrong way to look at life but that is just me:(. Maybe I need to work on that!
I am so happy for you though that you have things sorted and you are on the road to getting your life back! Well done you.! Many virtual hugs x0 -
Only bit I can add is that most companies will not even put forward a proposal unless they are sure it would be accepted as it costs them money to do it!!! And they also are in it to make a profit (apart from the debt charities, of course).
Can you get your salary paid into your partners account and pay your priority debts individually out of that if you are really worried????Just completed my one-time IVA0 -

Hi katiemay.
Thankyou. My new account is now up and running, I guess I just got a little impatient waiting for it!!!
I do need to ask another question now though. Just to see what I should do and how it might/might not affect my IVA. We were well into our agreed overdraft on our joint account with lloyds before I transferred all my DDs. The only ones I left in there were our loan payments because they were also with Lloyds and didn't want to cancel them and risk them closing my accounts also I don't think I would have been able to cancel them anyway.
Anyhoo, got letter from lloyds this morning saying we are now over our agreed overdraft limit, they have provided us with an unplanned overdraft to cover the payments they have made. They will now start charging us a daily fee of £10 etc etc.
Should I notify my IP of this on Monday even though they knew we would go overdrawn on our limit? I phoned Lloyds and the guy on the other end of the phone said I should pop into my local branch next week and discuss the matter with them! What should I do, if anything? Sorry for long post!:o0 -
I would have a quick word with your IP, if only to put them in the picture. The extra £10's will be added to your debt to Lloyds in the end and will not add a significant amount, really.0

I was in the same boat with First Direct - as in I had £3500 of overdrafts with them plus a credit card, and once I had written to them and explained the situation, and made them a (tiny) offer of payment backed up by my budget (as worked out with the IVA company), they froze the charges. Its probably just another scare tactic, but as FoggyBrain said it will just get added to your IVA anyway so don't worry about it. But do inform your IP.Just completed my one-time IVA0

Hi there, I came on here initially for another matter but just spent 20 minutes reading this thread and wanted to comment, in Sept my IVA finishes yippee! It will have been 7 yrs which is longer than the initial 5yrs it was set at but I had to review my payments after 2 yrs. Now the ends in sight its amazing how much lighter I feel, the company who handled my IVA were brilliant, and its been trouble free through out. Never again will I have debt although I understand to build up my credit rating again I need to have a credit card???? so persevere, its stressful at the beginning but refer all creditors to your IP - good luck0
