Here is another one on its way to you xx

    Thanks ms_london xx

I bit the bullet today, as my milk is about to turn to cheese, and i'm out of bread. So the obligatory 45p on milk, and 47p on a loaf of bread, was spent via my bank card, as i don't have enough cash to withdraw the real stuff. Which now leaves me with, if i'm correct, £4.53 in my bank account. Ah well, its only money, as they say..............

How long is a piece of string?

I've a small amount of pay due tomorrow, but theres no guarantee, as ever, and every penny is already spoken for. I don't have set pay days, unfortunately.

Glad to see you have changed your username :) sorry to hear the pay situation is so irratic, it must make things ten times harder. Is there any possibility that you could earn any more money either in the same job or taking on a second one?

Ani, what are you feeding yourself on apart from milk and bread? Are you going hungry? I feel really sad for you :(

Yes, it does make it very difficult. I was working days and night shifts, before xmas, but although i had food then, sleep deprivation is not a viable alternative either, and i've almost decided not to take that path again, this year. Its just a slow and spasmodic start to this year, workwise, which is of no comfort to someone in this situation. x

Largely beans on toast, although i'm sick of them now. I stocked up on them when they were on offer, when i had a little money spare, around a month ago. Not something i usually eat with any regularity. Maybe i should see if i can get some potatoes reduced tomorrow, then i can have jacket potatoes and beans, for a change. I've still got cereal in the cupboard, ( which i bought on offer ), very cheaply, so have the cereal for breakfast, with the milk.

I was trying to remember how much i spent on my the last ' big ' food shop, and i can't remember. Somewhere in the region of £20, i think, but its been very little since, so i was'nt far off in my original estimation

  • This thread is brilliant, I too am constantly battling to get my grocery bill down, it is currently at around £400 a month which is just way too much, I am on a mission to reduce it but DH keeps scuppering my plans with his carnivorous habits ( I am happy to eat veggy but he simply refuses LOL) I am going to have a good read through all the posts :)

Seriously this isn't right.... you can't live on baked beans on toast! And how long for? How many years do you have to do this?

    So so so sad :(
