Thanks LW.. It makes good sense. I do have a terrible lazy streak tho so find it hard to get going again once I have a break.
    However...

[STRIKE]Clean down kitchen - tops, doors, equip
    S&S Bathroom[/STRIKE]
Do washing - inc bathroom mat etc - waiting till later when I will have enough for a load
[STRIKE]Tidy round bedroom - pick up clothes etc
    Hoover through[/STRIKE]
    Empty all bins
    [STRIKE]Feed birdies and cat - Done[/STRIKE]
Do anything else that I think off when flying

Not so bad so far. House is looking a bit more respectable. I have also tidied bits here and there as I went so it is improving. TBH it really only needed a surface clean to keep things organised as being ill I have not made a lot of mess.

My mums rung and has a load of washing stuff for me. She has recently developed an allergy to her wash powder so my sister and I are going to get all her old stuff which she has had to replace.

Only one week today and I will be back at work. Am a jumbled up mix of excited and scared right now but I am keeping my focus in the day and not projecting. Going to work on some guidelines for myself to stop me getting in such a state again. Keeping a book with me to write down any feelings, problems etc in the workplace so I am aware of issues and can deal with them before they balloon out of proportion like last time.

    Anyway.. time out now..

  • afternoon everyone

almost normal service has been resumed - my lovely visitors have left - they even got across the border without being stopped:rotfl:
yesterday started ok but deteriorated when I got food poisoning we think:eek: I started upchucking about 3pm and roughly every hour thereafter. 'Mum' was angel:A not sure if I would have coped on my own. feel really wobbly today and havent eaten yet but been drinking and sleeping.

I feel bad that we missed out on our last night together:(

And I spoke to my NOF - she is still bed-ridden with her broken hip but they have found cancer in the lung so not good - I was so upset when she told me - I need to get back on my feet so I can go visit next week.

  • Hi everyone...had a busy week so far - worked Monday and Tuesday long days and then we were at the cinema yesterday and ended up out from 10 til 6pm so I have done very little flying so there's probably not much point in posting a list as I'd not have much to cross off!!! But I have today emptied and refilled the DW and done 2 x WM and one lot hung on the line.

Got Dad's biopsy & bone scan results yesterday. It confirmed what we already really knew: that he has prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Unfortunately the biopsy showed cancer in all the 12 samples they took. He's still quite positive though and is going to take part in a trial. They've not given a prognosis - my Dad didn't ask and I didn't want to ask myself in case he didn't want to know. My mum is very quite about the whole thing. She's never been very good at discussing emotions but I can tell how upset she is - one of the reasons I've been going along to all the appointments - the other is that they are both useless at relaying the information back because they don't understand it all and don't really ask! We're just really taking it one day at a time and I'm just glad that at the moment he's feeling really well (thanks to the hormone treatment he's on now). Don't really know how I feel at the moment - don't think I'm really dealing with it - just trying to be strong for everyone else.

Anyway - enough of all that - my friend's been round today and she's expecting her second baby in 8 weeks and we're seeing BIL and his wife at the weekend and they're due to have their first in about 4 weeks. So there are a few good things to come out of this year!

Toots - so sorry about your friend. Hope you're feeling better soon yourself too.

jjef - thinking of you all - such a difficult time and even harder helping your children deal with their grief too. Hugs xx

Hex - Happy Birthday - hope you have a lovely day.

Off to ask a question on the knitting thread - if I get a quick answer I'll be knitting for the next HH.
  • Hmmmm I'm not doing so well with flying today, have very little motivation. Been to friends for coffee, dropped DD at school and had a telephone interview for a census job other than that I have just wandered aimlessly round the house doing little jobs.
Hopefully I will muster up a bit more energy and fly round before DD needs picking up at 5.
My list def wont be completed today lol. At least WM been on a few times I supopse.
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday

Sorry to hear your sad news, jjef and sunnygirl.

Seafarers - sending safe journey vibes, and best wishes for the wedding.

I've made a start on the bathroom and just sat down for a break. Most of the walls and about half of the tiles are done, but there's lots of other stuff left. It will keep me busy for the rest of the day. Thanks to whoever flung this oversized mule my way - I would have done nothing without it. When I'm done I'll have a lovely soak in my nice clean bath. :D Need a quick snack, then I'm back to it.

    Afternoon everyone.

Jjef - hugs to you xx
Sunnygirl - massive hugs to you and your family xx
Tootles and LL - big hellos to you both too xx
Lamewolf - stripes is very well thankyou but, until about an hour ago, very smelly!
Dusty - we've sold the caravan for a number of reasons. DH is working on the East coast for the next two years and won't be able to get home till late on a Friday so we won't be able to go away for weekends anymore. On top of that his 'boat project' is nearly finished and we want to spend a couple of years taking that out at weekends. The good news is that the caravan sold immediately for what we bought it for two years ago so that's a bonus!

I'm definitely heading back to normal - whatever that is! I've washed both dogs today and i'm slowly blitzing the living room. It might take a couple of days as i'm not rushing things but at least i have the energy now. Don't worry, i'm not rushing anything.

Haven't really got the extra energy to do livid but I would be if I could be - i've just received a fine for late submission of tax return despite having it in early to the accountant this year. I've told him to sort it out but it's made me realise having a family friend as an accountant isn't good so i'm not going to use him again.

Hope everyone's having a good day.

    xx
