Its the buyers fault that she didn't check the price of postage. If you ordered something from a mailorder company and they then asked for extra £2 to cover postage cause they hadn't bothered to calculate it would you pay them the extra?

I can't believe the seller was so cheeky to ask for the extra money, I wouldn't dare!

I wouldn't dream of asking a buyer extra for postage costs, it would be my mistake!! I have refunded postage costs when it has cost me less to post an item than I orginally thought.

They seem to have done well and got a good total price. I wouldn't even consider paying - it is the seller's responsibility to be aware of pricing.

I would be pondering what stars to leave for communication..

you did not send me postage cost after i messaged you. many thanks

Can you block someone from sending you a message on ebay? I am just getting fed up of her asking for the extra money now. I have already told her I was happy with the price I payed and will not be sending extra

Unfortunately you can't - just delete her messages to you unread.

What did you leave for fb and stars?
  • Send her a link to this thread - should make it plain she is out of line asking for you to pay for her mistake.

Have not lefted it yet as I am sure I will not get good feedback from her. I have never had any problems with ebay before would Neutral feedback be the way to go? or good feedback with lower stars as the item was fine. It's just the way she is trying to get extra money I have a problem with.

Remember as a seller she can only leave positive feedback anyway.

Personally I wouldnt pay any extra because £15 BIN plus £4.50 is almost the same price as buying new and these are not new books!! In fact she got a good price for them already.

If it bothers you, maybe consider a compromise and offer half of what she's asking - though personally I think its cheeky of her to ask!
