I brought some weight watchers books from ebay she payed £20 at class had them on BIN £15 due to one of the book having been wrote in and a week used in the tracker book.
Just had this email
I feel bad that she is out of pocket would people send her the extra postage? I do have the item and it did cost £4.50 to post.
I have sold an item on ebay before and put the wrong postage myself and would never dream of asking my buyer for more money.

Hope you enjoy ww good luck! Only problem is i only charged £2 postage as i did not think it would be that heavy but it came to £4.50. Obviously this has put me out of pocket now as i already sold the books cheaper than what i paid the week before, please could you send me the postage cost through pay pal would be much appreciated thank you

I wouldn't give her the extra. If it was that important to her she could have weighed them at the PO first. You are not under any legal or (in my eyes) moral obligation to pay her anything more.Anna :beer:0

I would never ask a buyer for more money! If I miscalculate the shipping fee then that's my problem.
You're not obliged to give the seller anything further - if you do, it is entirely down to your own goodwill and nothing more.0 -
i wouldnt send it either, its up to her to estimate the postage before the listing or like others have said weigh them at home or postoffice. Only thing i can say is that on some listing they wont let you put in a higher amount than it states in other listings.( i had this on a jacket i wa selling, even though it was heavy and knew would cost alot it would only let me charge £3) maybe thats wheat has happened to her and is chancing it to see if you will pay the extra0

Hi,
she could've contacted you before posting to see if you were willing to pay extra, but she maybe didn't want to lose the sale.0 -
dont bother sending her anything she got a good price for the books and its not your fault she undercharged for postage for postage
I though ebay only let you charge so much postage for booksNeeding to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -
Come on guys, have a heart.Dear seller, I am really sorry of course I will pay the extra postage of £2.
Please discount the item by £2 to cover your additional unforeseen costs.0 -
I personally wouldnt argue over a couple of quid, pay up, you'll feel better for it.
If you dont you will feel really guilty for ages as well as the seller feeling bad.
Isnt it worth paying it just to avoid all that bad Karma.
Be nice and enjoy your booksmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks guys thats what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure I was not being mean.I would like to be a glow-worm.

Don't pay the extra, then she will think it's OK to do this, and will do it to others.
I've underestimated postage myself but would not have the cheek to ask for it from the buyer.0 -

OP does not need to feel guilty, she has done nothing wrong and I would not waste a moment worrying about this. There are very few sellers who would even have the cheek to ask.
Mayeb seller even got more money as she may well have received more for the books as the postage was so cheap.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
