Through Quidco you can buy only a new contract, not upgrade/extend the exsisting contract. A new contract means a new number and you need the PAC to port the old one to the new contract.

Having said that, AFAIK (check this), O2 is the only network that allows such 'internal' porting, not only from another network.

I've been through this 4 times in the last year, buying O2 contracts through Quidco whilst still having O2 contracts.

The first 3 times I asked for, and got, a PAC code which confused O2 as they said you should only do that when changing networks and it wasn't necessary for O2-O2 changes. On receipt of the new phones, I used the PAC code and everything went fine.

This last time, for a Blackberry last Friday, I'm not bothering with a PAC code, as the O2 website clearly says you can do the change painlessly online and get all the credits you're due.

As for Quidco, they're slow at getting the cashback, up to 6 months, but it's always come. Even when I've had to phone up O2 for additional security checks prior to getting the order confirmed, the cashback has always come. O2 specifically said that Quidco cashback still tracks, even if you have to speak to them for the security check.

O2 are confusing Quidco with the likes of Mobiles.co.uk etc. when they talk about who the contract is with. If you buy through the Quidco link, your contract is with O2, simple as that.
  • i cant see anywhere online that refers to 02 honouring quidco

i think for traceability factor- i will order through quidco website, and then get pac code

but would sooner just upgrade through 02 and still get £90!

Wouldn't we all! Then the cashback sites would go bust, though, as there'd be no need for them.

O2 have never once automatically traced through Quidco for me out of 6 or 7 contract and sim orders. Each time I've had to submit a missing earnings enquiry, but each time it's been added and paid (eventually). Just make sure you keep the order email with the "on-xxxxxxxxx" number on it.
