I tried the laundry bar idea first, then for good measure i squirted loads of washing up liquid on top. Bunged it in the washing machine on a 60 degree wash (because i forgot the hot-wash advice!). All clean and as good as new. Thanks to you all.
  • Try using Bepanthen instead of Sudocream, a lot less messy and just as good

  • My friends little boy has got sudocreme on the carpet. Is there anything that will get it out?

  • You could try star drops - make up a solution as suggested on the bottle for carpets. Remember to patch test!

My 18 month old darling son was put in his playpen for his morning nap. It is a large playpen and includes a padded base, a sheepskin rug that is designed for babies to sleep in and loads of toys. Today, somehow, it also included a small tub nearly full of sudacrem. It wasn't nearly full when we went to get him up for lunch - it was all over his face, clothes, legs, hair, padded base, favourite toys, bumper (beyond salvaging) and he had got a good fistful on the carpet (cheap nylon).

Now, first thing we did was check that sudacrem was safe if he had eaten some (it was round his mouth like a clown) and he has shown no effects. I've washed the toys and the base with plenty of vinegar (and my top which got absolutely covered when I picked him up, his clothes are just going in the bin, they are rigid with the stuff). Any suggestions for the carpet? Otherwise, tomorrow it's warm water and vinegar.

All suggestions gratefully received, and please feel free to laugh - once I knew he was safe I laughed til I cried!

    Hiya,

I dunno about the carpet, but it comes out of clothes with just a hot wash.

Extrapolating from that, perhaps a scrub with hot soapy water will help the carpet? Needs to be hot though, cos of the oils in the sudacrem

    Panic not!!

It is quite funny, but I'm sure you must've been really worried - big hugs

Hi there! Hope your son's OK now. There's an older thread that I'll merge with this one. Hope you get the cream out.

Thank you for all the help, much appreciated!

Afterwards I laughed soooo much, I was giggling as I loaded the washer, but I am glad that it looks like an easy job to get out.

OH suggested that we just rub it til it disappears, but I think he was confusing what happens on carpet with what happens on skin :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi all

Ok, all you wonderful OS-ers, I need some help. Does anyone know how to get Sudocrem out of upholstery? It's dreadful stuff.

Am hoping someone will have some tips for me.

    Thank you
