  • That is a fantastic idea - I am sure they will love it. Your sis is prob a teeny weeny bit jealous that her kids will be giving wine!
  • A great idea - i think will also follow suit!! i have quite a few 25cl bottles of wine also(from my tesco points chase) will put a few of them in aswell

Seems like a lot of school staff rooms will be getting hampers this year!;)

    Cheers OP

Hi just to say we decided to go to the UNICEF website (sorry still can't do the technical stuff)and ordered exercise books for 150 children for 1 year you can choose the card, script and wording. My daughter has 5 teachers at nursery and thought this would be appropriate.
Managed to pick up lovely musical christmas tree ornaments to give each of them something individual .
    Hope this helps.

I usually give chocolates, but this year I found some lovely candles in ikea, last year found some fab fridge magnets which went down well. I have a freind who is a teaching assistant and she really put me off when she said she thinks more of the children who bought the wine, and she punces on the wine and expensive choc's, I really hope that all staff are not like that.

Personally I'd much rather be bought wine than any other present. So what if it's less effort for whoever bought it?

I'm going to appreciate it a damned sight more than some ham fisted attempt at a picasso on a cheap A4 folder.

And no I'm not a teacher yet, but shall be in a couple of years.

The kids will probably hate me anyway, just the way it should be :D

    Hi,,
Has anyone got anymore ideas for xmas presents for teachers?? My son has 2 teachers at nursery and both are excellent, you can tell that they do really care about the kids..Id like to make (with my son) them both something.

Then I think for the teaching assistants,a tin of chocs. boring I know but everyone loves choccy!!

What a thoughtful gift well done

You have given me an idea for all the teachers in my childrens schools

I was thinking of doing a huge hamper with about 50(that should cover the primary and more for the others) sachets of chocolate about 4 boxes of after eights (standard size)
2 big bags of mini marshmallows
and a whisk(does anybody know where i can get one from reasonable price)

It would cost me a fortune if i bought them all a mug but they will have their own one in the staff room anyway
For my childrens teacher i was going to give them an extra one each
Can anyone think of anything else i can put in it or do you think thats enough

Thanks again for your fab idea

  • Hey everyone,

The hamper looks lovely, but as a primary teacher myself, its always nice to receive books from parents - often a school does not spend much money on books so the same ones get re-used and re-used, and books with characters in go out of 'fashion' so quickly, so they are not bought. Some cheapie Bob the Builder or Jaqueline Wilson books are always good :-)
Gifts for the kids, not the teachers :-)
