Teachers prezzies...

My son is at nursery and they have 5 teachers!! |he wanted to buy them a present so we have put together a hamper with the following in...
5 cups (not teacher or xmas ones just big hot choc cups)
20 satches of different hot chocs (lots of diff flavors)
5 boxes of after eights (those small ones with just 5 chocs in)
big bag of marshmellows
box of them long round biscuit things lol
we are making some chocolate spoons
a chocolate shaker
a battery operated whisk
Tyler has also made a card for them saying thank you, we have put it all together in a big wicker basket (so they can reuse it to store things in in class) With a little note (that he has wrote himself) telling them to sit down and have a nice hot choc in the lunch break to relax with.
We will also be adding a small bag of fudge, peppermint creams and truffles that we will be making ourselves.
We was really pleased with them and Tyler absolutely loves it but i have just shown my mum and sister and both of them say it's not very 'teacherish' and we should just of got a bottle of wine and box of chocs to share.
Now i'm thinking it won;t go down too well as my sister thinks everyone gives them cups and they will be sick of seeing them! Should i scrap it and give the hamper to someone else and just get the teachers some chocolates for the staff room???
What has others bought their kids teachers??

the missus is a teacher - wine sounds good!!
It's usually best to get something to eat or drink to be honest. There is only so many cups, ornaments etc you can have. Looking at your gift it's more than generous though.
Whatever you give though, I'm sure it will be very much appreciated.
I know the wife appreciates anything & it's a nice reward for a crappy job. The real reward is to be appreciated.0 -
I think it sounds fab. You've put a lot of thought and effort into it and I think they will love it. I know I would!:D0

Hi Simba,
No don't scrap it!!!
As I was reading thru your post I was thinking what a wonderful idea!
Teachers have precious little time to themselves and I think they will love 10 minutes out with a hot choccie and a biscuit.
In fact I might steal your idea myself - with your permission that is?????;)0 -
Sounds great, please don't scrap it. I work in a nursery and we would be really happy and touched to received a gift like that, shows a lot more thought than just a bottle of wine or box of chocs. Go for it.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0

you have put alot of thought into it.
i know as a parent how easy it is to go down the 'wine' route (as much as it is appreciated!)0 -
That's so lovely! Shows a lot of thought and I'm sure they will love it. Might do a similar thing with my DD and DD nursery teachers, if that's ok!0

I wouldn't add the wine at all! I think you have made a fab gift! Lots of thought and effort seems to have gone into it.
My Mum worked in a nursery for years and anything the children gave her was always appreciated!
Really nice gift - WELL DONE!Lydia
