Dealership Discputing Invoiced Price
This evening I agreed a deal for an approved used car from my local Audi dealership. I shook hands twice with the salesperson confirming the price and deal and walked out with an invoice for the amount I expected to pay.
Shortly after leaving, I received a voice mail claiming that "they had accidentally mischarged on the invoice and would need to add 200 GBP back onto the price."
I find this completely unacceptable, as we both agreed on the price and went over the invoice before shaking hands and agreeing delivery of the car on Monday.
What are my rights here? I really want the car, but I am unwilling to pay another 200 GBP, especially in these circumstances, as a matter of principle! Reading the contract we signed, it does state that the dealer can revise the price in some cases, but it doesnt seem to apply to approved used cars...
I left the dealership feeling happy with the deal, and now I feel like I am being taken advantage of...and disappointed that I may not get the car I wanted.

Eh? Why would the OP walk away if they want the car at the agreed price? They appear to have a signed contract with the dealers to buy at a specified price unless some clause allows the dealer to alter the price they (dealer) are in breach of contract if they don't go ahead.Gordon_Hose wrote: »If you're not happy, walk away.
Ring to-morrow, ask to speak the General manager or senior person on duty. Tell them you intend to seek advice from Trading Standards on Monday and will not pay more than the contract price. Ask them to identify the clause that allows them to increase the price AFTER the order form is signed.
The salesman/manager may have c0cked-up but that's their problem. If you didn't buy they'd be quick enough to keep any deposit they require you to pay.0 -

The OP has signed a contract, so has the dealer (by the sound of it) so neither can just "walk away" except by mutual consent without potential consequences. Either the dealer has a clause that allows the extra to be charged or he doesn't. If he doesn't he legally has to honour the contract.0 -
Don't just walk away, screw them over as they are unprofessional and may be doing this all the time. I'd threaten to sue for my wasted time.0

So I just took another look at the contract and the clause regarding amendments seems to only apply to situations where the manufacturer changes the .price of the delivered vehicle to the dealership. As this is a used car, it doesn't seem to apply so I don't believe they have a leg to stand on. I will be fighting them on it tomorrow! Any more advice is greatly welcomed!0

You only mentioned an "invoice" up until now.
If you have a signed contract, they can go swivel for their £200. But you already knew that.0 -

If you don't undersatnd how a contract is formed google it, wikki it or something.
In simple terms - He agrees to buy at x price, dealer agrees to sell at x price, contract is formed and invoice or order form confirms details.0
