Did you amend your order any time before delivery? I've had this before with Asda whereby if you amend your order you can lose previously discounted offers and are charged full price but you won't know until your shopping arrives. I now refuse to shop with Asda because of this.

  • As some of the other posters have said, what exactly changed in price so much? Was is a special offer that ended (or just wasn't applied to your bill), they sent far too much weight fruit and veg, general prices had increased or something else?

The OP has intimated in post 8, that they don't have the time to check the receipt. They clearly reserve the right to come on to a public forum and spill their guts about a problem that may not be.

  • Do you know I can think of no one who reads the smallprint before ordering fluffy essentials like groceries from Asda. Thank you to whoever it was who at least agreed that Asda are pants with CS, I have had troubles in the past with them and only started shopping with them again as they had a product I wanted.

I must say that I asked for advice not to be made out to be some saddo who has nothing better in her life than to bother about the 10 quid charged above the price quoted and oeerrr, condemning me for not checking out the smallprint, (maybe we should do a head count on the number of online grocery shoppers who do this before placing an order!) oh and a further head count on the penny pinchers who can be arsed and who have the time to check off their reciept. THAT IS WHY I SHOP ON THE INTERNET, TO SAVE TIME.

I have posted twice on this forum in as many years and both times many(not all) of the replies appear to be from know-it-alls who obviously think they have the right to be rude.

Not that you will get anywhere with Asda, but you certainly don't stand a chance unless you DO go through the receipt and find out what items had changed price.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

    Hmm... :)

This is all getting a bit heated here and there so could I please remind everyone of pretty much the first rule that Martin ever wrote...

  • I don't do online grocery shopping, but I do check my receipt before I leave store as I know some stores are prone to overcharging or not applying discounts.

I think you will need to compare your receipt with the internet shopping list to identify the discrepancies before you speak to CS tomorrow, otherwise you won't really have a case to argue.

    Good luck

no one has been rude, im not claimning to be a know it all and neither are the others, i just know form reading on here that the prices on asdas website are a guide and only that and if an offer changes between you ordering and delivery then you are charged the non offer price on day of delivery,
