Asda website grocery price versus actual - what do you think

Hi
What should I do about this. I carefully placed an order on the Asda Grocery website at a total cost of £95 - this was £10 over my weekly shopping budget of £85 but I needed a few extra bits. Anyway, the nice man from Asda delivered my goods today and when he had left I checked my receipt, only to find out they had charged me £105  and that was with 3 items they did not send.
I phoned the CS and "Roxanne" said she would look into it. She called back and said everything was delivered and all prices were correct. I did not dispute that I explained, what I was not happy about was the difference in price from what the web quoted to the actual price. "Roxanne" went on to say that it does say in the small print it is a guide - and I did say that everyone has small print to get out of their wrong doings. Also, she said that prices change and promotions taken off, thats a load of c*!p as they only tell you the promos for your booked delivery.
Anyway, I then asked to speak to a Supervisor/Manager, she put me on hold and then said it would be 10 to 15 minutes before he was available and asked if I'd like to hold, of course I did. "Mark" the Manager was very polite and said someone would call on Monday to explain what had gone wrong, I have had dealings with Asda CS before!!!!
I appreciate that loose fruit and veg ect can push the price up/down but £10 in this climate is disgraceful, that is 10%!!!!
So, do you think it is fair that for groceries, probably one of our most budgeted outgoings, an online supermarket is being fair by changing or misleading me into spending £105 when on the website it was only £95?

...have you looked at the T&C's?0
-
Here are the T & Cs relating to pricing
3.1 Prices on the website are the prices charged in store on that day and as the store prices change, We update the website overnight. They are therefore a guide only. There may be some slight variations by the time We are due to Deliver Your order. When You shop on the Website You will pay the same price (excluding Our online only promotions) that You would pay if You came to Our Store to do Your shopping on the day of Delivery
But 10% is hardly a slight variation! or £10+0 -
I think those terms are probably OK as long as you can reject the items that were not shown at the same price you got them for.
Do ASDA allow this to happen in a relativley easy way? (perhaps aside from just returning goods as you could do by going in store and using their normal return period)0 -
They are hardly misleading you, im sure the others have a clause in the t&c's stating the prices are a guide, asda have done anything wrong
if your not happy see if you can return the 3 items and/or vote with your feet, the t&c's are there for people to read and its up to the customer to read them, asda cant make you read them0 -
...they are therefore a guide only...do you get that bit...I do.0

Which items were different to the price you paid when online i.e. does the email confirmation list the items with prices?0
-
It has nothing to do with the 3 items not delivered, if they had been sent it would have been around £15 more. Unlike some sarcastic forum members, who may have the time to go through each individual item and check it off against the price paid on the day, I used the "GUIDE" as quoted on the website to work out my weekly shopping budget.
I have been using the internet to do my shopping for around 8 YEARS and have never come across this and feel it is BAD SERVICE as well as UNACCEPTABLE. The only difference in price is the weight of veg/fruit etc.
So, I will await to see what they say and BTW - I am pleased for you that you do not have to worry about 10 quid and may your successful finances continue.:cool:0 -
Oh and Mr Gordikin
Yes I do get guide and I also get SLIGHT VARIATION. Do you? If not I wouldn't mind doing business with you!0 -

You are wrong here. The offers and promotions are the day of ordering, not the day of delivery.
You seem to be very angry about this, but anger will not help you. Asda have done nothing wrong here, and you are not entitled to anything back, nor will you get anything back even as a gesture of goodwill.
I would suggest changing your online shop, but I expect that all other retailers have the same system.
I would just be grateful that you had the money in the bank otherwise they would not have delivered. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
can you clarify exactly what the 'overcharges' are on and how many items cost more than they quoted?
If they have sent you 5 sets of fruit all £2 more than expected, I think that would be a bit of a !!!!take
I used to do online grocery shopping for Tesco and IIRC we used to go around with what the customer ordered and get the closest weight.0
