I've done this at the trafford centre with a friend.
You have to soak your feet for a bit in a foot spa, to make sure you have no lotions etc on your feet, as this would kill the fish
then you put your feet in the tank and yes it is really ticklish at first, my friend was in fits of giggles, but you get used to it and at the end your feet do feel really soft, I was quite suprised.
Apparently you can have your hands done too!

Ooooh where at the Trafford Centre did you get this done as i am going this week and would love to try it!!

    Thanks x

Edit: And how much was it also?

it's on the ground floor, nearer to debenhams side, I think it was near the disney store or there abouts.
    The website is http://appyfeet.co.uk/index.html

    FOOT SPA TREATMENTS
    £10 for 15 minutes
    £20 for 35 minutes

    HAND SPA TREATMENTS
    £5 for 5 minutes and £10 for 15 minutes

Where is the place where you can lie in the tank, that must be a lot more wierd

I think I will give it a go though. Just hope they don't eat too much of my feet!

Do they change the water &fish after every customer? Dont like the sound of water with other peoples dead skin in?? And surely by midday the fish will be full?

I did want to try it but can't get these things out of my mind so haven't been!!

the thought makes me feel quite sick.. though the idea of 'full fish' all laid at the bottom of the tank bloated and saying to each other they couldn't eat another cell is hilarious!

I cannot get past the thought of water someone elses corns and veruccas and bunions have been in.. icy chucky.. I can't even look in the shop here..

I went last month using a gift voucher and posted this on the No Buying Tolieteries Challange.

Well I have to say I rather enjoyed the experience. I had to fill in a questionnaire first and then my feet were sprayed with some solution to remove chemicals from any products I had used. My gift voucher was for 15 minutes and you get a massive egg timer beside you to keep track. When you first put your feet in the fish go into a frenzy but it does calm down. The best way I can describe it is like a tingling sensation almost like mild pins and needles. I don't have tickly feet so don't know how someone with that might react. The fish suck away the dead skin and leave the healthy skin. You can feel the bigger fish more as they have more power. It is fascinating just to sit and watch where the fish gravitate to.

Afterwards you are given some paper towels to dry off your feet. I have now had a good inspection and I am quite pleased with results. My feet overall feel much softer and a lot of dead skin is gone. It hasn't gotten rid of all of it but then I wouldn't expect a 15min treatment to do that.

I have another gift voucher to use up before the end of March so will be going back again. Otherwise it is a £10 treatment which is a lot for 15 mins, so I would class this is a really nice treat for you and a mate. Overall it's very entertaining and sure beats sloughing it off with a pumice in the shower.

Do you have to declare any infections / diseases? What if someone had something, had broken skin etc and infected someone??

When we were in Mexico, my husband cut his foot and it had got a bit infected. We were on a trip run by locals and visited a natural lake to swim in. My husband explained the problem with his foot and he was told about the fish in the water and told to sit on the side with his feet in the water. The fish nibbled all the manky infected bits away and his foot healed up fine after that :D
Here I go again on my own....
