Just thought i'd write again and update more.
Had a spare 20 mins so called nationwide again and supplied my Complaint Ref.
Spoke to a nice lady called Sharon, and advised her of the situation.
It then dawned on me that the only letter I have had back from NW was the statement of means letter. Since then i have not recieved anything.
Not even a written acknowledgement to my letters dated 2nd/8th June. Nor the letter that a Kamel read out to me over the phone "that was in the post".
My complaint also got raised to a stage 2 on the 30/06/2009. 5 working days ago (today) and still no acknowledgement of complaint.
I am pretty sure that is in breach of the FSA - where a firm has 5 working days to "acknowledge a complaint" I advised sharon of this and said that I am sure the FOS will not be happy to hear this, and she agreed.
She has taken my number and will look into it and get back to me.
The fight continues....
Will phone them this lunchtime as you suggested to get it "moved up" to stage 2. Appreciate all your help and fingers crossed that we both get out money back! Will keep in touch, thanks.0 -

Seems to be moving a bit now.
Had a Mark Pulham contact me as promised by Sharon.
He states that a letter went out to me on the 2nd July acknowledging my complaint.
I had a off the record chat with him, said i was up to my eyes in debt etc. and how it's affecting my mental health.
He said the papers arrived on his desk this morning, and that my correspondance should be with him by end of the week.
He said i'll be looking to get a repsonse by next week.
I'll keep you posted0 -

will keep my fingers crossed for you.....good luck!0 -
As Promised.
I got a call today from Mark, They have agreed to repay £450. So not the full £1500 but it's a start.
It will clear the outstanding overdraft i have with them, that i am currently paying back £50 per month. and it will give me about £100 left over.
Once i have the letter with the offer on that he said was sent out today, I shall write back, expressing that i am still currently in arrears with Council Tax and that the 450 they paid merely covered the Overdraft.
I wouldnt want people to think i am complaining, because its a bullet hole in the beast called debt! but really all they've paid out is £100.0 -
As you say, its a start and £450 will come in handy.
I am still waiting to hear from Stage 2 (altho I don't expect it to be good news but you never know).
Will keep you posted.0 -

Accept the amount cos the rest of the charges are on the table but ask for a final response as to how they came to the figure and didn't refund more.
Once you have it then we can see if there is more that can be done0 -
Will do!
Already on to it.
am awaiting there letter, to see if it indeed reads " full and final settlement" If it does then surely the only route then is the FOS, as i have exhausted Nationwides complaint process.
If it doesnt, which to be honest i dont think it will, I am going to write back including a copy of my council tax arrears. Stating that i have banked the recent money as an interim, however it merely covers the overdraft and does not help me tackle the issue on Council Tax arrears.
I will also ask how they have arrived at the amount.
As ever i will keep you posted.0 -

Yeah thats what i was getting at.
Worked in Insurance too long.. ( Full and final settlement)0 -
Well Stage 2 didn't work either...........got a letter this morning (pretty much saying what the original one did) saying "basically go ahead and do your worse" so will now fill out the FSO form.
Didn't expect much else really :rolleyes:0
