well all what i have listed above... i didnt really use/enjoy including the laptop (sad but true) i will (prob tommorow) list some more of my stuff including some of my tidy books... but seeing as most of my books i got off ebay for about 99p each after i have read them and lent them out they usually (unless they are really good) go to the charity shop/womans refuge
not very money saving but i got what i needed from them and now some 'unfortunate' people can use them too

The most radical thing i've sold is my engagement ring! That sounds drastic but isn't really. I was never mad keen on it but (this will tell you how silly I am/was)as everybody knew that we were going to get our ring and I couldn't see anything I really liked I got just a ring(told you it was silly) nice enough, but nothing that made my heart leap. When we started to sort ourselves out I asked DH how he felt about us getting rid of it. I have a beautiful ring I saved up for CZ anad Garnet. So, we sold the original ring for £180, DH "bought" the CZ ring from me and then after a couple of weeks, made a nice meal and presented me with my "new"(very treasured) ring. So,even though it sounds a huge step it wasn't and I have NEVER regretted it.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

I've been selling a lot of things lately, more as a decluttering exercise than to clear debts so it's only things I don't use anymore. I absolutely love it, it makes me feel "cleansed" in some crazy way to get rid of things without adding to the landfill and making a bit of cash into the bargain.
It's amazing what people will buy. I'm finding books & dvds harder to shift, everyone seems to be selling those (which is good if you're in the market to buy!). But I manged to sell an old coffee plunger a couple of months back for about double what I paid for it in the shops a year ago. Crazy!0 -

I'm really lucky. I have a fantastic husband who I love a lot.We may not have much in the way of money or material goods, but we have each other which is all we really need.postingalwaysposting wrote:aww thats cute and romantic anniestar...

I would sell whatever was necessary. Because the fun thing is being able to buy new stuff when you are debt free!I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

pooranddesperate wrote:I would agree with previous post - wouldnt bother selling your books on ebay unless they are first editions/ rare etc.. what with fees and low selling price difficult to really make any money on them, and if you love them then would seem a shame to see them go for not much..
novels do OK on green metropolis ( look out theres a GM challenge on at the mo too
)
Textbooks go for silly money on ebay. Ive sold almost all mine now ( wont be needing THOSe again!) and I reckon Ive made 300 just from those.:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
you lot have inspired me. We have a 'personal items' board at work on our intranet and I've sold a few things already and made £15, which I know isn't a huge amount, but it's a good start. I'm going to sort out my CDs tomorrow and have a go with them...would rather try and sell them this way first as don't need to faff with postage and people tend to pay what you ask rather than haggle..will keep you posted.
Any further suggestions/advice/experience or just general chit chat would always be welcomed!0 -
I've sold old mobile phones, my pda, my older laptop and satnav unit (i had two) and various other bits and bobs. My biggest sale was my 'weekend fun car'. I nearly cried when i got rid of that! But....when i'm debt free and have savings i'll be buying another one! That'll spur me on to get there quicker!
