I think this is a healthy obsession that some people dont understand at all (until its too late). A friend of mine had the same amount of morgage as me 15 years ago. But today her balance sits at £54,000 and mine at £14,000. She has had expensive holidays AND expensive clothes and hair cuts.

We have had cheap uk holidays and bargain clothes from the charity shop, watch every penny and cut our own hair.
NOW her and her husbands income has dropped alot due to lack of work, and they are in difficulty WITH THE MORGAGE COMPANY ,
she said I am lucky to have such a small mortgage , which got me thinking ...
The harder we worked at paying off the morgage,
the luckier we got !!! :D

    TODAY ....

My parents phoned saying they are visiting me today because they won a £300 luxury hamper and only want a few things in it and I can have the rest .

    Going to work.
    doing surveys.
4 items ending on ebay today.
My son is staying at my parents , so dont have to feed him :rotfl:.
    Kindness costs nothing :)

Me too! I get really cross with myself if there is nothing to report or no savings made...I even think during the day 'note to self, something to put on the 'small things' thread!! Glad I am not alone with this obsession :D

I actually jot things down in my plan a day diary as i do it so i don't forget to report in. I am queen saddo obsessive compulsive. Oh well. I will be smiling when i am mortgage free. :rotfl:I can also see if i am beating yesterday to know if my efforts have been good enough.
