DH brought the work van home with him so he has filled it with s-crap. I agree that i think it will be interesting to see what we get. We will be putting it towards neutralising the cost for changing insurance over. DH rang up to see if we could have a week of cover on the old car just to give us time to dispose of it, and they want to charge us £25 per day, so really urgent now we get rid of the other car on Saturday.
I haven't managed my dooyoo review tonight. I watched some stuff off the digi box instead so that is now a bit less full.
DH will need to be up early for work again tomorrow. Hopefully the kids won't wake up before we want to wake as we have a lot to do and need the energy.
Hopefully DH having done what he has tonight will make things easier for the weekend. (It already feels a little like the weekend to me with the kids having tomorrow off school.)
roger ramjet 10 NSDs - wow that is good going. I don't think i can manage that. There always seems to be something.0 -
This morning I got a greggs BOGOF tea/coffee voucher so I have printed that with my croissant voucher ready for an MSE meet up with a friend next week. I printed it on fast greyscale to save ink
I will catch the bus to the train station instead of getting a taxi.
I will try hard at the interview as a new job would be very MSE
I got the bus to, and from, the station even though I had to wait tonight in the freezing cold street (no bus shelter) for 25 mins.
I also walked through lots of shops but bought nothing :A I was very tempted in one shop but I decided I don't have a job yet so need not to shop.
I even resisted a take-away and finished some manky cupboard food for my dinner. Go meDebt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Mornin all!
Good MFWing so far the last couple of days!.... which is a good thing as we have a few big bills coming up in the next 2 months so need to spend as little as possible!!
so far have...
*taken pack lunches into work all week,
*filled the freezer with whoopsies (mostly bread, crumpets and posh croissants for weekends!)...so much so that I warned mrtyo not to open it incase he was injured by a loaf!
*haggled 2 months free car ins by speaking to current provider re: lower quotes I had recieved- less hassle than changing and actually about £5 cheaper overall than the lowest quote!
*used voucher for dinner out with a friend last nite so came to £10 spend for main, drink and coffee afterwards- not bad methinks!
*Turned heating down/off in the day and put the other one on a timer , will adjust these at weekend too as seem to be getting warmer...
*Oh - and been to work! :rotfl:0 -
Off to a good start. DH has taken the van of scrap, so hoping for a few pounds there. Some big items in there like the old boiler and sink, an old trailer, and all the aluminium cans we were saving to cash in.
DH also told me last night that although he originally negotiated a whole years tax on the car, we are actually now going to be given it with the month tax left in it and that money knocked off. I think that will make us 1/12 of the cost of the car tax better off.
I'm about to send my shop and scan data, earning my £1.10 for the week, and try and entertain the kiddies without spending any money today. It is a nice day so i am sure it will be manageable.0 -
