With hindsight we really should not have gone for the 5 year fix we are in now. With 2 years still to go we have overpaid a considerable chunk and could get a much better rate if we could remortgage now. Sadly there is a massive fee to get out early.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

What rate would you consider good now for a 5 year fix?0 -
Good evening from Thailand,
Sold some books for a small profit.
Gave a loan to a business with a small daily interest until it is paid off.
Went to the local auction hall to checkout the merchandise for Saturday,s sale. Nothing there I can profit on so won,t bother going.
Set myself a budget of 20000 baht (400 pounds) for the whole month. Easily manageable in ultra cheap Siam.
Changed my laundry supplier for 300 baht month saving.0 -
Home made a loaf :-) brought some salad leaves seeds from the guides for 20p. Rang HSBC to up regular op to 20 on new fixed rate part of mortgage. Kept treat night to £30 food (£40 total) we really needed this, it's been a hard month!0

Sold a couple more things on ebay - and have managed to find cheaper postage for them - result! Also prepaid for postage and got an extra credit to my account - 2 parcels worth
HM bread baking still continuing. Free yeast from Tesc0 for it - lovely ladies at the bakery counter give me god sized lumps now!Popped in to there on Sat evening and got a few bargains (lots of salad leaves at 5p bag, stirfry veg (for dinner today) - 2 bags totalling 8p, 2 bags of donuts at 5p each)
Sorted seeds from garage yesterday - will be sowing some salad leaves, runner beans and tomatoes later today. Also have some chitted seed potatoes to plant out.
2 bags of clothes and 2 boxes of books sorted and will be making their way to cash4clothes site later in week (to be combined with a visit elsewhere to save fuel!)
Decluttering continues here in the greent household. Some stuff being sold for cash, some being donated, some recycled, some binned. But less stuff means less inclined to waste more money on other stuff and also frees up time/ energy in dealing with aforementioned 'stuff' to do other things, some of which may be moneysaving/ generating

Our current fix is 3.99% but because of our overpayments we could get a 2 year fix at 1.99 now!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

I ended up with a 5 year fix at 2.49 on the larger part of our mortgage and left the rest on a tracker so I can OP. I thought best of both worlds. 3.99 is a bit annoying but I've seen Much higher on here.
Today's money saving. Went for walk and packed a picnic. Baked a loaf and a cake. Made food for tea out of stuff hanging in the cupboard. Put washing on when it was sunny, in fact cooking done too using free solar energy too!
A NSD so far as I forgot to buy any milk today!0 -
£7 to the S&S ISA pot0
