How is it going GreenT? I still have 6 bars of soap and some borax lurking under the sink that I was too wussy to use up for that purpose! :o

I've been making it on and off for about 7-8 years now :) I don't use borax substitute - so this Easter break I'll be washing the teens' school white shirts in a bleach-y wash to brighten them back up! I find it works well on the whole but whites do get dull-er. It's certainly extremely cheap!

I've been continuing with the stuff from before and this week also ebaying some more bits (although I've relaxed now and unsold items are then off to charity shop)

My main achievement this month has been reduced spending!:D Not achievable long term, though!! Am making a real concerted effort to use up strange, random or overstocked items in food cupboards/ freezer. Has resulted in quite a bit of soup - and will mean much baking over Easter break to use up lots of random baking bits and frozen fruit from not only last summer, but Summer 2013!!!:o

£16 to the S&S ISA pot to cover me for the weekend.

Now off to a distillery - let's hope they don't have what I'm looking for or it will be an expensive Saturday :D

    • Paid S&S ISA pot for next week (£63), £145 paid into S&S ISA (one unit of Vanguard LifeStrategy 60% bought). I had a personal challenge to get to £10,000 by the end of the financial year, looks like I will fall annoyingly short (£45 or so). Hey ho, I suppose it's only a number, no real significance beyond having saved hard this financial year :)
    • £1,000 paid into higher interest rate savings account, we have now lost our CB account as they're slashing the rate paid
    • Bargain SC dinner of black bean and orange stickered pork belly chilli being prepared
    • 100l recycling bin emptied. Ok, so this isn't MFW per ser, but it makes me happy as it shows that we are able to recycle 50% of all our waste, it always struck me that MFW was all about a sustainable future? :j

Hope you don't mind me joining in :

I used the £5 off voucher in Aldi and a few of the other vouchers too. Total saving £6.96.
Claimed my free coffee from McDs (collecting coffee beans from the side of the cup )
Have had a big cooking session and made Jamie Oliver's chicken stew with dumplings, a boiled fruit cake to use up some ingredients from store cupboard (tried not to look too closely at sell by dates - should be fine I boiled it! ) and a big homemade rice pudding using pudding rice from Aldi ( currently 49p for 500g )

Hoping for some leftovers for tomorrow

    £1.22 Tilly Tidy

Been calculating my latest figures to do an end of financial year round up, but a couple more payments to be made into my ISA yet

March End of the month update! All these get paid monthly and I put them straight into my overpayment pot.

Website and Youtube Advert Revenue: £64.71

Thats £160.93! Not bad considering I only made 2 posts on my youtube channel and website in march!
