    Hi, Everyone

    Recently, I have -
    • received my Colgate sample. These are my teeth :D
    • got £4.20 cashback and ordered Old-Boy cat food via TCB, should get a whole £1.40 in 6 weeks time ;)
    • Had to take Old-Boy to the vet so booked for the free geriatric cat clinic which includes free consultation, thorough check up and free urine sample check. Just had to pay for the treatment for cystitis (ouch!, poor old-boy!), reckon saved at least £30 consultation and poss the same again for the urine sample test :T
    • Whilst at the vet, I noticed that if I pay for preventative things monthly (e.g. flea/wormer/vaccinations) for Kitten, I'll save 10% and have 2 free consultations a year...seems a good deal to me....:money:
    • Also, saw an advert for fluffy ginger kittens...managed to drag myself away before any damage could be done :rotfl:
    • My car sharer is back! Double yay as he's driving me to & fro work twice this week :T
    • My car is currently giving me 64.4mpg....still pushing for more :o
    • Being dragged kicking and screaming to a lunch meeting on Wednesday, but will get fed, so a free lunch, and, as I've blown the grocery budget, I'm also hoping to pick up some free fruit for the rest of the week at this meeting :o
    • Did loads of batch cooking whilst off last week, so have a zillion hm meals ready in the freezer, and am taking packed lunches to work as usual
    • ooh, I'm also now a nectar card holder...not sure whether I'll earn many points as never shop at Sainsbugs and only very infrequently at H/Base, but it seemed daft to turn it down. I have the Nectar tool bar switched on so get points for searches...I've also discovered it gives me points for the same searches over and over and over and over again....:rotfl:
Think that's it for now :)

    Have a good week, Everyone

    LB xx

    Over the weekend,
    • returned some M&Sparks stuff bought on sale for refund - they didn't fit properly.
    • made it on whoopsie time at ASD* on Sunday - so lots of YS F&V on top of the RTC sauces and baking ingredients.
    • On Fiscal fast - day 2
    • Have done a few VO surveys, but no survey invites from Mysurv** and OP so far this week.
    • Cancelled my subscriptions to FT and RD, saving £90 per quarter.
    • Took up another Ovivo SIM, so no more paying for mobile bills provided the usage is limited to 200 mins per month.

Don't forget BP for nectar points (although they're not the cheapest so I only go there if the car is running on fumes and can't make it to Mr T)

Kantankarus Mare, in answer to your question.....
Nasi Goreng - an Indonesian recipe, great way to make chicken streeetch...

Makes 6 portions, and you can freeze it too. It's also v. tasty eating on the second day...

    2 chicken breasts, diced

    Marinade:
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
    1 tablespoon dark brown sugar

Marinade the chicken for half an hour, and prepare:

2 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
    1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
    90g sweetcorn
    1 red pepper, chopped
    1 large onion, chopped
350g long grain rice (or basmati)
2 teaspoons mild curry powder, or garam masala.
    1/2 teaspoon turmeric
    900ml chicken stock
    100g frozen peas
    3 spring onions, sliced
    1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
50g roasted peanuts, chopped (or crunchy peanut butter!)

    Strain chicken and reserve marinade
Put kettle on for the chicken stock and make that up.
Stir fry chicken 2 minutes in 1 tablespoon veg oil, then set aside
Stir fry sweetcorn and red pepper in sesame oil and 1/2 tablespoon veg oil
Saute onion in the remaining 1 tablespoon veg oil in large saucepan for 3 minutes. Add rice, stirring, for 1 minute - make sure all grains are coated in the oil. Stir in the curry powder and turmeric, cook 30 seconds, add chicken stock and the reserved marinade from the chicken. Bring to the boil, cook on high heat for 6 mins, then lower the heat and simmer for another 6 mins. Stir it every now and then to stop rice sticking to bottom of pan and burning!
Then, if your saucepan is big enough (otherwise, use something bigger, I use my stock pot), combine everything:- Add frozen peas, spring onions, dark brown sugar, chopped peanuts, cooked veggies and chicken to the rice, and cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes.
Season if required but I always forget.

Chop up and freeze any remaining spring onions if you're not using them in the next few days!

I thought I'd already posted this a couple of days ago but can't see it so at the risk of repeating myself...........

If you have a nectar app on your phone then make sure you update it as the latest version allows you to run Nectar searches from your phone!! It's a bit more hassle as you have to go into the app to do the search.

    Nothing much for me recently:-
    *Some Nectar Searches
    *A couple of YouGovs
*Claimed my work expenses having originally paid for them on my Tesco Clubcard CC - so earnt points for myself
*We've had some buffets in at work for clients and there is so much left at the end of the day I've taken some food home - some delicious rice with lentils and a huuuuuuge Greek Salad last night
*Monday night was freezer surprise (and quite a pleasant one actually) and tonight is bendy vegetables with a leftover Tescos Own LF Garlic and Herb Cream cheese stirred into pasta.
*Took back all the clothes I bought on a mad shopping spree before I went away recently for work. Its always a pain taking stuff back but I've got it all done and even though I shouldn't have done it in the first place, am pleased with getting that job off my list
*Shopped around for Car Insurance although surpisingly I found my renewal quote the best!

*Tomorrow I'm using some Clubcard vouchers to pay for some planned days out with my nieces (I'm in charge of them for a whole week in August :D:D:D:D:rotfl:)
*Saturday, instead of going to my usual expensive high street salon, I'm going to the local hairdressing college. Not sure how much I'm paying yet but it will be at least 50% of what I have been paying in recent years. I don't normally tip at the hairdressers but can I ask what do peeps think about tipping the student and if so, how much?

I would tip students maybe 20% if they were good? The prices are so cheap after all.

    For me:
    * got emailed a survey which promises a £10 Amaz0n voucher! Was not through a survey site so hope it will pay out
    * done a brief VO survey for 50p
