  • Hi all. Firstly can I apologize if these 2 short questions are a broken record or yesterday's news. I am new to this forum so please be kind. I'll keep this short.

    - Can I still reclaim my charges on Credit Card accounts which have a DEFAULT marked against them and thus my credit scoring too?
    - Also, can I request/demand that the default is removed from my credit scoring then as well?

Hope that was short enough and many thanks in advance to all those who can and do help me.

    Kind regards,

    Bob.

  • hi,
what should i put in the "particulars of claim" box if i want my credit file to be corrected along with my charges (around 2600.00) being returned? the account is currently defaulted at 877.00.
    thanks
  • One further question my partner has a default from her capital one account. Due to the charges put on that forced her over her limit does she stand a chance of negotiating the removal of the default ?? Thanks for the assistance.

  • Hi guys

Abbey has charged me non stop and last year I went to pay my final list of charges which added up to £190 for that Month . I went into the branch asked to close the account and pay all charges to date, they wouldn't allow me to close the account or pay the charges as they weren't due to come out for another 3 weeks, I explained that in 3 weeks I might not have £190 and would prefer to pay now. I was referred to the call centre who referred me back to the branch and this went on for 3 days.I got so upset that I told ABBEY I wouldn't be paying them at all.

They closed my current account and reduced it to a cashcard account and sent horrible threatening letters saying they were taking me to court and that someone would be calling to the house if I didn't pay.I explained my reasons for not paying but they could'nt care less and continued phoning my mobile non stop. They reported me to a credit reference agency and recorded every month that I didn't pay the charges and my credit file is now damaged.
6 months ago ABBEY had great deals on for a loan and I decided to apply by telephone and after my application they refused to allow me to borrow because of how my account was managed.

I have sent the first template letter asking for a list of my charges in the last 6 years and was wondering if any of you guys know if I am within my rights to request my credit file is changed.

By the way good luck to everyone I really hope you get whats owed.
