Maryb, could you shorten the coat? I had a long coat that I hardly ever wore as I'm not very tall and it felt a bit like a dressing gown! But once I chopped a few inches off the botton and bound the raw edge it felt just right and I wore it a lot.

Big thanks to Kidcat for taking the time to improve my posting skills 100% by your sage advice. You have had much more important things to concern yourself with today, so I especially appreciate you taking the time to give me guidance.

Oh well the only answer is a citybreak holiday to Salzburg!! (I wish!)It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
I accept your offer of a truce and your apology Ceridwen - thank you; but would rather you didn't overlook the misunderstanding and thought more carefully about how your comments may affect other people in future.
I am happy to draw the line under it and move on, we are adults and should be able to have a disagreement without it causing problems between us, and I apologise if my emotional outburst caused any of the rest of you to feel uncomfortable. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -

first day of half term and we took the boys to liverpool museum. We buy 'saveaway' tickets so we can bus, train or ferry on the wirral or over to liverpool. Once we were all home, I took advantage and took the bus to sainsurys and used the nectar points for some fresh food and into aldi for the super 6. There opening a new ymca charity shop in the area, a furniture one like the one in town. We desperatly need a new sofa - mum bought my siblings new stuff for their homes when dad died (brother had roof fixed for eg) and were holding out for a 2 seater sofa in beige!
Dreaded school shoe shopping this week as well, Ds1 has worn a hole in this pair, his 3rd since sept and Ds2 has had a foot growth - again!Mum, wife and dinnerlady!0 -
Hi everyone,
just wanted to say thanks to whoever posted the recipe for Savoury Oat Slice a little while ago, tried it this evening and it went down very well, esp with DD16. Made a note as I nearly always have all the ingredients.
Congrats to Bertie and Freda's OH on the new jobs - lovely to here some good news.
Anyone following The People's Supermarket on Sun evenings? Chef who is running things could be an OSer - keeps using up the supermarket leftovers to make HM readymeals. Really interesting idea - the supermarket, I mean - run on co-operative lines -hope it works out.
Re petrol prices - have been monitoring ours, we are spending at least £50 per week and really can't afford it - but out in the sticks so have to drive everywhere. Hope for some help but not optimistic. Long term I think country living will be just for the well off (or the very fit who can ride a bike!).0
