Hi all, Thanks so much for all your posts, they have been a joy to read and I have learned some great things> am really enjoying being more frugal and am getting the debt down slowly.
Have also been watching superscrimpers and have tried a tip from there. My dressing gown and some undies had faded from a pale pink to a dingy grey and were embarrassing- today I bought a 'tulip red' fabric dye- I am so pleased, undies, dressing gown and a stained t-shirt now a lovely bright pink colour and hopefully will last for a long time- previously I would have thrown these things away without a second thought, but the delight I feel at the results beats any shopping trip.
Will keep reading for more of your fab tips and support to beat the tough times x0 -
Rosanna, I have read the first two Nella Last books, enjoyed them very much - she's totally OS, isn't she? I did'nt realise the 50s one had been published, will have to look out for that.
Enjoying reading all the news, haven't much time for posting atm, also not feeling 100% - sympathies for everyone else in the same boat.
Had 3 teen boys round for tea unexpectedly on Sunday - gave them and DD val. pasta and HM sauce, bit of grated cheese, fresh pineapple for pud, worked out about 45p per head! Think you are all keeping me on track - sure I would have made something much more expensive in the past.0 -
Hello all, isn't the sun wonderful?
Today was hectic and I'm admitting I'm finding things tough. I developed a really stupid and embarrassing GP phobia over the last few years (its very stupid and I'm furious with my self I can't get a grip). I've decided to take the next two days as self indulgent days in a sort of health kick. I've nt been drinking as much water as I like to recently because I've needed to be busier and not always near a loo! So tomorrow is a day where I can stay at home and near the loo and DRINK all day. Also, a bit of a review of the supplements etc I'm taking is in order. Something isn't right and I have to figure out what it is ASAP!

LOL just seen a snippet in the paper that lack of Vitamin D is responsible for men snoring. It causes poor muscle tone in the throat.
I'll try anything!!!! If it works it really will be a miracle vitamin!
bloomin heck. Dh used to snore like a trooper, he doesn`t any more since his D intake settled0 -

Meanwhile make a plan for what you're going to have done to fill that space. Have they discussed a bridge or denture for it?
Dd is a dentist and infective endocarditis (heart) is just one of the consequences to those at risk. It is massively important to take good care of our teeth and gums. Infection can enter the blloodstream through extraction or brushing the teeth too strongly
edit: that is if there is an infection already present0 -
frugalista and ginnyknit thanks for the advice, will look at ebaying the ones in good condition (some of these are in their original boxes) and will boot the knocked about ones, there is even a pendelfin house that belonged to my grandparents but it got broken in two and was badly repaired.
In an attempt to start running down the freezer I took some mince out last night to do a cottage pie today but it was to hot to contemplate that type of cooking so I made burgers instead. Being MSE I combined the mince with some red and green lentils, onion, soya mince, herbs, chilli powder and an egg. Result = great burgers but there are 9 to go back in the freezer .
I am risking putting all of the seedlings into the greenhouse instead of back into the house tonight as I want the dining table to tackle the mammoth amount of ironing that has been generated over the last 3 days.
It's been a really great day here and I have got all of down stairs sorted (again) including cleaning the carpets so I'm feeling quite please dwith myself. Also managed to fit in a quick trip to town with DD2 for a summer dress I promised her but she did not like it when she tried it on so that saved a tenner. Also visited a friend who is being treated for cancer who is having a Hickman line inserted tomorrow.
I even managed to sit in the garden with my book for a short while.
All in all a productive day. Tomorrow I will tackle upstairs although both daughters have cleaned their rooms so only really our bedroom en-suite, stairs, landing and airing cupboard to do. My plan is to get the entire house sorted so that we can have 4 days relaxing (and car booting) together :j.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Well - if Vitamin D helps with poor muscle tone in the throat - wonders what it does for poor muscle tone elsewhere (like the stomach and abdomen area)????...maybes it might be helpful from a looks POV to up the Vit D intake as well??
Does anyone know? It would certainly help lift my spirits visibly to have my figure back to normal....0
