dentist says its infected and gives me strong prescription of antibiotics - then says tooth needs to come out make another appointment. I go to reception and next appointment is end of MAy:eek::eek::eek: I asked whether I couldn't come back sooner as I was concerned of a re-infection and she says its ok dentist has put a note on file - if it flares up again just give us a call and we will issue you more antibiotics:eek: - surely it makes more sense and costs less to simply fit me in and remove it sooner??
Angel, removing a tooth while there's an infection going in there is much too risky otherwise they'd have extracted it already. Best to take the tabs and be absolutely certain the infection has gone before it's taken out.
Meanwhile make a plan for what you're going to have done to fill that space. Have they discussed a bridge or denture for it?0 -

İ am feeling my usual stress mongering about money! it doesnt get easier despite all the 'figure churning'-does anyone else do it? and anyone know the cure?-i made the mistake of asking for comment on here and got the usual torrent of abuse! i do wish people would just say nothing unless they have positive to contribute!--my finances are sound on paper but it's getting the logic to sink in my fat head!
work in winding down as the spring approaches because adult students tend to find better things to do!!-running at 75 pc of my usual work load-i came home early today but have to go back just for 1 lesson later.

LOL just seen a snippet in the paper that lack of Vitamin D is responsible for men snoring. It causes poor muscle tone in the throat.
I'll try anything!!!! If it works it really will be a miracle vitamin!
Ooh, does it say anything about lady-snorersMrs_Veg_Plot wrote: »Thinking of getting rid of some of our excess stuff at a carboot sale this weekend. Does anyone know of any good boot sales to go to in Cheshire?
Whereabouts are you? There's one at Runcorn near the old shopping city, also a biggish one in Warrington up by B&Q at Winwick.0 -
Thanks floss2 will look into them.
OH seems quite interested in going to a boot sale this weekend so here is another carboot question as its years since I have been to one, should I mark everything with a price or not?
Sorry if the question seem daft but I know some of you on here are regulars at boot fair and will be able to point me in the right direction.
We have a lot of the usual household clutter, kids toys etc and about 25/30 pendelfin rabbits is this the right type of stuff to take?I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Marking everything with a price is simpler and saves arguments, of course they can still haggle but you are giving a definate starting point. Im not sure what sells though as its a while since i did a carboot. i guess you could check the value of your Pendelfin on e bay before you decide.
You guys amaze me, a lot of people in the plastic world out there could learn a few life lessons. No matter how much stress and worry and upset you are going through theres always something positive you are doing to occupy your mind and improve your lot. We have a had a tough few days with our drop in income so have been seeking advice off the Dss and spoke to a lovely helpful man there. Today the nurses have been to see Oh to give help and support and tomorrow - at last - he is off to see the psychologist. In between I have been out in the garden planting away and smiling like a loon at all my seedlings. tonight Im making stuff for Dgs,he is 1 on Saturday and Ds expects homemade gifts off me cos she loves them!
Homemade macaroni cheese with leftover bacon and ham, few peas and corn was a great success and cost about 80p for 2 portions - wish I had made a bigger dish full
Hugs to all in need and hope the sun eases everyones pain.Clearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -
Interesting to read posts on Vit D and mention of osteopenia- recently diagnosed with this myself and as I'm under the dietician anyway was advised to increase calcium in my diet, walk as much as possible and sit in the sun foir a minimum of 20 minutes daily. My dietician told me that an awful lot of children are suffering Vit D deficiency and some suffering from rickets as a result of being slathered in sunblock. Personally following advice given and seems I'm a rather healthy colour at present even if I'm absolutely whacked out from all the walking !!!!!:rotfl:
Have beem watching the Superscrimpers on 4 OD and that Make Do and mend programme- doing most of that anyway but amazed at some of the families in the series and their overspending?
Earlier in the year we were visiting MIL down south and she was complaining that one of my SIL who also does her shopping won't buy anything at the local Co-op insisting instead that EVERYTHING must be bought from Waitrose! This despite being on a very low income. MIL said this was due to SIL being a complete snob having had a privileged education , first class degree etc etc... In my experience it seems that some very bright people lack basic common sense or lifeskills. I used to visit Waitrose last thing on a Saturday when we lived in East London with my friend en route from a monthly music rehearsal. We'd buy the bargains and enjoy the coffee shop to round off a girls' afternoon out but that was before moving north, retiring and joining this this thread....
Same SIL told us on that visit that we're not as developed up here as down in the South East...!!! We're both glad to have a frugal lifestyle (or gettin there) and a slower pace of life -It's great,
Does anyone remember the film Housewife 49? Think Victoria Woods played the part of Nella Last- I subsequently ordered the books Nella Last's War and Nella Last's peace-published diaries of her participation inthe mass Observation project. They are a very interesting record of ordinary life which in its apparently mundane detail gives a superb picture of frugal living which was so much part of everyday life 50- 70 years ago.
I'd asked for some more books for Christmas including 'Nella Last in the 1950s' which OH had ordered and subsequently forgotten about until my birthday at the end of March. Not only was it a lovely surprise but reading Nella's account of life in the early 1950's indicates that inspite of the ratiuoning still on, the shortages and fears of atomic warfare there were still frivolous people who didn't practise thrift etc. There seem to have been an awful lot of tinned foods about and unless you had your own veg plot fresh the availability of fresh fruit and veg was very variable. Nella Last in the 1950s is a good read.
I'd better go and make tea as I've got a very disgruntled and moaning Minnie of a cat on my lap who's complaining her head off - worse than any toddler!! Good wishes to all having a tough time at present' Enjoy this lovely weather and the free yellow ball...0 -

Oooh! My mum used to collect those. Don't you know anyone who could e-bay them for you - as I suspect you won't get anything like their true value at a car boot."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718
