Ceridwen, these homes are classified as having "two bed spaces" i.e. the bedroom will take a double bed, so a couple doesn't consitute over-crowding but a singleton-and-child or a couple-and-child would be. Of course, if he HAS moved her in (no evidence yet) and not declared it to the council tax department he'd be fraudulently claiming single occupancy discount...hmmm....we shall see. He's up there now, dragging stuff around...grrrr!

Those were my other thoughts re Giggling Girlfriend - ie that if he has moved her in...then the next thing you know she could be "falling pregnant" and that would be a very mixed blessing (as in they would certainly qualify for a bigger place:cool:) on the one hand - but there would likely be months of "crying babydom" whilst their plans came to fruition - ie:@
    - Step 1 - Giggling Girlfriend to "fall pregant"
    - Step 2 - we ask the Council for a bigger place
    - Step 3 - we get given a bigger place

I've been in accommodation that was minute before now - but a bit bigger than yours and it only counted as suitable for one person <puzzled smilie>. Mind you - that was some decades ago and standards may have been revised downwards since deliberately...:(

Reet....strong coffee coming up. More wine than I shoulda at lunchtime - and I blame my mother for that....as I took The Parents out to lunch (and my mother and I are as bad as each other "Yes - I know I've just had a large glass of wine and its lunchtime - but...yes...I WILL have another one:rotfl:). Anyways...they've gone home happy ....and planning on visiting the place again..

Hugs to all those having a bad time, my heart goes out to you.
All quiet here, planting, scrimping and trying to find a cheap cot for Dgs when he stays here as the travel cot doesnt really work now he is a big boy. We have decided when Ds moves next week we are going to live on our stocks and try to get some money together for a few days away. I badly need a break from the slog - as many on here do. Got some tiny neck of lamb pieces in the slow cooker and going to bulk them up for tea. We are a cash free zone again so Nsd's are many :rotfl: But if you ain't got it you cannot waste it!

Dear God, I've just spent two hours trying to "hoover" the house. We've inherited a shiny virtually unused Dyson from MiL, she was persuaded to buy it by BiL who failed to recognise that at 90 years old she kinda needed something that didn't require a degree to use and didn't weigh three times the weight of the average two year old (I may be exaggerating slightly but you get the drift!)

Does anyone actually like these things? It's rubbish, I still haven't managed to clean the stairs, we've had to drive to the local hardware shop to buy a new belt that was virtually impossible to fit - all because it picked up a bleeding hairgrip and jammed itself!!!

What a heap of rubbish - I'm giving up and I'm going to use the old Henry, this thing is clearly not for me! Anyone in Dorset want to buy a Dyson?!

Just a heads up, approved foods are now free delivery over £35 until tomorrow. I have only just read my email.

    UPDATE:

I signed up for emails after hearing about them on this forum but can't really see what the hubbub is about personally???
