Finally caught up.
My car insurance is going to be double but have to ring and get ds taken off it as they have their own car now. No idea how much of a difference that will make. I am dreading May when dh insurance is up. His car is bigger and more expensive to insure.
For now I will just carry on as we are but have warned him we may have to get him a cheaper car.
It all depends on diesel prices and tax.0 -
Its absolutely freezing cold today, it feels so raw here on the East Coast this weekend:eek::eek: ..........ive been outside this morning for couple hours doing the hens and dogs etc, and few gardening jobs......
I checked the wildlife pond for frogspawn but not yet, its probaly a bit too cold for it, also someone said in The Mail I think it was last week that spring is so far 2 weeks late this year, we definately need the water to warm up before the frogs will spawn...............
Theres a few daffs on their way out, also plenty of snowdrops out...........:)
My honeysuckles are in bud and also the rose bushes, they are always first to show buds in the spring..........
My hens had a bucket full of roast dinner thanks to the restaurant today, :jalso poor old hens seem really hungry today with the cold wind we have..............
I did put 3 heavy bath sheets on the line ,but they only got id say 30 per sent dry, never mind.............Ive got toasted cheese for tea with apple ,toffee pie and custard:jcant wait really hungry myself..... I bought the desert from tesco if I remember correctly it was quite cheap out of their freezers, it will feed 4 but theres only the 2 of us:eek::j:D;), well Idid say its cold so we are extra hungry today.............0 -

Definately go on line for a comparison on your car ins........I do it every year and always find a cheaper quote....its quite quick and well worth it........:)0 -
The thing is it is cheap compared with many and it is fully comp.
Dh is a bit attatched to his car and I agree with what he says about it being a useful size for camping and moving big stuff but he uses it for work and it costs £5 a day in fuel. That is a large percentage of his wage on top of tax and ins. I will work on him if things get too hard. It does not help that he drives with lead in his boots but I have not ever been able to convince him that he could save money by driving slower and gentler.0 -
On a more general note, OS can be hard. That's why we all got seduced by modern living in the first place. It does take a lot more work and effort and energy doesn't it ? And it does get us all down at some point or other. We get overtired, hurt yourself, ache, feel resentment, bad temper. I know I do often. And then I tell myself to get over myself. :rotfl::rotfl: Keep on keeping on everybody ! xxx
I DO often suspect that some of the prevalence of readymeals/readymade chemical cleaners/leaping in cars to go a distance that can perfectly well be walked is partly down to Him Indoors not doing his fair share of keeping the house running - therefore the woman thinks "If you aint sharing the cooking - there wont BE any cooking. Its readymeals for you me lad." Men - I couldnt fancy the thought that I might have to "housetrain" one to do his fair share in the end. They either came "ready-trained" or forget it...:rotfl::rotfl:. I wasnt prepared to put up with living that way to suit any mans idea that I was going to let him get away with doing nothing very much in the house;):)0 -
Some great advice happening from our newest OS recruit here

bars open by the way if anyone wants to drop in for a sherry
We'll look forward to the further scientific experiments with food courtesy of Dazco then:D. Do you think he could be persuaded to come on over to this Side and try some out? - After all its been a while since everyone was teaching Mr Bad Example to cook - we could do with some more male company here:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Shegar I'm gobsmacked. ROSES? HONEYSUCKLE? my god. I have snowdrops and thats the lot. No daffodil has yet been mad enough to raise its wee head here !0

Forked out for two more 'bonnets' as shes already smashed her first one.
Been baking today, made a lovely red pepper, pumpkin and sweet potato soup which we had with a freshly made loaf.Pizza swirls which will do for snacks this evening, got some yoghurt 'brewing',jelly for DS2,another loaf and some craisin and banana bread.
Just got some citrus compost for OH's rather poorly looking trees will see if this peps them up.
The toms, chillies and peppers are peeking their heads through the seedcompost..happy days0 -
