Hello all,

Anyone buying Easter Eggs Mr T has them as buy one get 2 free. These are the £2.50 eggs so you get 3 for £2.50. This is cheaper than Asda who are selling theirs at £1 each. I haven't looked anywhere else as with the baby bump I get too tired.

We're in the middle of sorting through all the rubbish in this house. Spent all yersterday sorting, binning, putting away and the house looks worse today than it did yesterday! I completely wore myself out though and today I barely have the energy to keep my eyes open so will take a break today.

Spoke to the neighbours who live next door to the family from hell and they too are still on at the council and police to get something done. They were told that it looks like July could be the earliest that they go - I was hoping it would be before May as that's when I'm due and wanted a stress free neighbourhood by then. What is really nice is that they are Polish (as am I - although second generation born here) and I get to use my Polish language which is great - I do miss speaking it to adults.

Hubby now hoovering out the car as we've just emptied it. The amount of rubbish and stuff in there has filled the floor space in my living room! Car is going in for it's full service and MOT tomorrow and I have been quoted £135 which isn't too bad as last year I paid over £200. I hope it all goes ok as I cannot really afford the £135 let alone any repairs that need doing. Having to take the money out of my maternity savings.

Those who can I would pop over to the Grabbit board as there is a whole thread about Asda/Tesco price matching that might be of some use to people here. I did a shop the other day and went on the price checker and on a spend of £40.01 I have got back a voucher for £35.86 to spend on my next shopping. I only bought stuff I use or needed so I am pleased with this. A little money saved.

Back to cleaning the car. Hope everyone has a good day.

DD16 has prom in a couple of months and all the group have purchased very expensive dresses £300 upwards - I would rather not spend that type of money if at all possible - can anyone advise me whether a dressmaker would work out cheaper??
My DD had her prom last year, we got her dress off ebay brand new from China, it's beautiful and cost a total of about £80 including postage (it also arrived within a week). The dress fitted her perfectly but if it hadn't it wouldn't have cost much to be altered at a dressmakers.

I don't know if a dressmaker would be cheaper than buying from a shop because you have to factor in all the material (which isn't cheap) and the time taken to make it, unless you know someone who could do it for you?

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links? This was my daughter's dress:

They also have a website but I went through ebay and paid by paypal just in case anything went wrong as I knew I'd be able to get a refund. They will also make the dress to your own measurements for an extra £15.

Anguk - check out sales in ladies depts, I got my 11yo prom dress in Debenhams sale, ladies size 6, was £21. It's definitely worth a look, although some dresses are just a bit too grown up, there are some 50's style ones around. Good luck !

Regards

Kidcat - I too was going to suggest Debs or Ebay - check out the Discount forum for codes for Debs and go through a cash back site too - sorry thats sounds like an order - its not :]

Today I have potted lots of seeds [2 small plastic Greenhuses are full]

Going to use the 40% off vouchers for Ode@n this afternoon as a birthday treat for DD and I have vouchers for 241 for Pizza Hut for her birthday tea for tomorrow

I used to have a stack of pressies for the little kiddies for birthdays when mine were at the age of being invited to all and sundries party, thankfully it stops as they get older and now its only 1 or 2 a year

I've run out of my stash of wrapping paper though - where is Woolworths when you need it!!

Have a nice day everyone

• KIDCAT have you looked at charity shops for the prom dress? You could do a Gok and customise it with things off the haberdashery stall?

My colleague got her wedding dress from eBay as well. She sent off her measurements and it fitted like a glove. To buy the same sort of dress here would have cost about £600, but it was under £100. The quality was unbelievable.

My only worry would be the conditions under which it was made

Also, look out for dress exchanges - they are places that sell or rent special day dresses. There's one near where I work and I have sold dresses through them, and hired/bought dresses there too. Especially good for guaranteeing no-one has the same one as you!
