I have just been to Morrisons and thought oh well, I have a bit extra cash and so got into old ways. £52 later!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

There is only me and whilst I spent probably £10 on cards for mum and paper etc £40 when I ususally spend £15 in Lidl is a serious shock!!! I blame the cookies as I only went to Morrisons to get the choc chips and guess what they didnt have any of!!! :rotfl:

Hi Flowertotmum, I know it sounds daft but she might feel cold because she has a temperature - if you google "fever, shivering" it will tell you all about it. Being wrapped up will make it worse, have you tried calpol? Might be worth a try anyway.

Hi thanks..she has no temperature just took it and its normal...she does have goosepimples though..she is currently playing with her sister and insists she is fine..but i know she is not..she looks so pale not unusual for her being a blonde and fair skin..but she has poorly written all over her..she hates calpol..but has had some neurofen and has perked up a bit..will keep an eye on her..
    thank you

If you live near a university town there are often shops that sell used prom dresses. For example there is a shop in Oxford that only sells secondhand evening wear
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    [QUOTE

I know when you boil rice in the saucepan it takes hours to get it soft, so I suppose even 40 mins in a microwave seem a long time but you dont have to watch over it like you do a saucepan ...............I do find the texture of the rice is so lovely and fluffy done in the microwave..........:D another point is it also depends on what your microwave wattage is ????.....

I would love to try this but does it not boil over in the microwave? I know that when I make porridge using milk in the microwave I have to watch it like a hawk - if i dont it makes a real mess ! Is it just a case of using a big enough bowl ?[/QUOTE]

No it normally doesnt boil over, but like you say its the size of dish, and I always use a large (I think) 4 pint one............sorry to you all that ive had to do this in 2 posts ,but I dont know how to get 2 quotes from different posts and put them together and answer in one go.......:o:o

((hugs)) Gailey hope the bath helps!

Just wanted to thank Chocclare for the wonderful recipe for chinese chicken, made it tonight and the lovely smell is wafting through the house, meat just falling off the bones and very tasty sauce. If you haven't already made this folks I can highly recommend it! Yum!

I'm trying to do one new recipe a week just to stop cooking becoming too choreladen. Next recipe will be hm tomato soup (from the bazaar cookbook) using up some of my stash of tinned tomatoes!

Need to catch up on the thread but hope you get some good news soon Hester and not the bad news you are dreading.

dd's friend is going to stay in Japan, he says the media are hyping the problems and making them worse than they are in reality! Nothing new there then!;) He is a good long distance from the power plant so should be safe.

I really dont have time to be ill/busy! Its taken me 1 and a half hours to read all the posts since I was here last...:D
    Great news redlady!! :T
Hugs to everyone having carp times ((()))
Thanks for all the recipes btw!
I got home on friday and felt very strange, my hands ached and I was frozen. The kids went off to their dads for the weekend, i went off to do my cleaning job and by the time I was home again felt like my head was going to explode..this was followed by a night of high fever and aches all over. I couldnt get out of bed on saturday and finally surfaced at 5pm feeling very weak. Have no idea where that came from..and am getting a little fed up with this whole getting ill at the weekend thingy..Its NOT funny:mad:!
I have the first of 3 estate agents coming in the morning and had (on thursday evening) ripped up the tatty hallway carpet in prep for my decorating weekendathon..so I have been like a woman on a mission today and managed to paint the hallway ,stairwell and landing in one day!!!:D... followed by giving the bathroom a mega scrub ,change 3 beds and clean the kitchen windows..oh and sort 2 loads of washing. I thaught I was OK until the kids got home but then had to talk..(not something I have had to do since friday -excluding trying to stop cat getting in fridge to eat cheese!!!:rotfl:) .........but now have a very strange feeling throat and a very dry cough. Cant seem to get more than 3 words out before I start to sound like some sort of unfit marathon drop out:eek:. My ds thinks its funny that I cant finish a sentence but I am not looking forward to what its going to feel like in the morning.

On a money saving theme DO NOT buy crown white emulsion for £10 (a huge tub) in B&Q as its rubbish. Thaught it would be ok as its crown as usually it is but noooooo not this one:mad:. I ended up using the paint that was meant for the kitchen ceiling (which is still not done), am hoping all the estate agents who visit this week are short. As being a short person myself I know its far less likely that they will notice the 2 toned ceiling in the kitchen:p

I may be serving school dinners using sign language tomorrow if my voice decides to give up alltogether and am actually hoping that I am on rota to wash up instead..the steam may help;)

I am also going to nick the weeble theme..I often have wobbles (and no I havent had any vodka:o) I remember the advert too:p

    Ear plugs work thank you.
We popped round and explained how the walls are quite thin in the alcove area due to fireplaces etc and said if they hear us to let us know as we cannot hear ourselves but we got short shrift (we popped round becuse her music was so loud 3 pictures on the alcove wall fell off.....?)However she did turn it down which we were grateful for.

When her man got back later that night they had a massive barney which I thought we had caused but they have them most days so I think they are just the noisy sort and we have just been so lucky up until now with the best neighbours.

But no more loud music and once we are in bed and the ear plugs go in we get to sleep.....pleased as hubbie has lost another two colleagues at work so the work load increases dramatically so he needs his sleep
