ftmI'm sorry to hear that too FTM. Used to keep chickens when I was a girl (or rather my Dad did) and they're lovely ol' things. Not "standard" pets as pets go, but very easy to become fond of.

is this weak/strong tea and made with bags??
Strong tea, made with bags - I use whatever black tea happens to be available at the time.
.
I have no idea what turbo cider is.
Its 'turbo' 'cos its quick - or at least, quicker than normal cider - you can get to the drinking stage earlierA bit like kit beer - it can be drunk as soon as fermentation is finished - but it's obviously better for a bit of maturing.

The first thing you need to do is calm down....it's not worth going into labour over a half leg of lamb.Unlike chicken and pork, lamb is absolutely fine to eat rare so it won't do you any harm if it does end up being slightly red near the bone.
Do you have scales as you'lll need to weigh it to get the timings right. If it's mostly defrosted by 3 o'clock I would put it into the oven and perhaps give it an extra 15 mins to half an hour (particularly as you prefer it well done). I'm sure that it will be fine. I wouldn't bother with the mixed herbs as they can burn easily.
If the worst comes to the worst, when you carve it if it is too rare for your taste you can always put the slices onto a plate and pop them into the oven or microwave for a few mins/seconds.
Enjoy your meal.

Thanks weighed it and its last 2half lb in weight.
was mostly defrosted.
put in oven on250 for 30mins so thinking needs least hour half so should be ready at aroundhalf 6ish Ihope.

Aw Gailey the lamb will be fine. I like lamb rare and my OH likes it well done so like Pink suggests, I often cut off a few slices for him and pop them back in the oven while my bit is resting.
We've been working hard in the garden today, determined that this year will see us with our best crops ever. The girls are really keen to help now and it's been great fun. I haven't had to buy a single seed this year and my propogation of plnts from last year has been really successful. We have lovely pale yellow primulas popping up everywhere as I grew them from the seeds of existing and wild plants. :j
Because we are being careful with money (as OH is self employed) I am conscious of spending money in the garden this year. I don't feel like I am cutting back though, just being more canny with seeds and swapping things with neighbours.
Talking of neighbours, next door is buying 18 eggs a week again, she only took half a doz a week since Christmas. This still leaves me with 10 eggs which is plenty as I only really use them for baking and the occasional fried egg. Sorry to hear about your chook FTM.
OH has just brought more logs in so I am going to relax in front of the fire until dinner and read my frugal living book which thus far has not taught me anything I didn't already know.0 -
Brrrr its a bit chilly today! I didn't put my heating on till mid afternoon and the house is taking forever to warm up! My dad came down this morning with a fantastic old picnic basket and inside was a lovely pair of fingerless gloves that my mum knit for me. So I am now wearing them whilst I type! I went to costco with dad this morning in the hope of finding some bargain flour/sugar. Came home slightly disappointed as it wasn't any cheaper than the supermarket. But I did get a 15kg bag of dog food cheaper so it was not a total loss.
FTM sorry to hear about your poor hen.
And hugs to everyone who is having a carp weekend too!
Gailey hope you manage to enjoy your lamb and that everything turns out ok with the car.
Talking turnips we called small ones white turnips too and maybe it is a northern thing?...
I went in my garden today as it was dry enough to walk on for the first time in weeks and I have things growing! Hope the -3 frost that is forcast doesnt kill it off!JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

I'm reading a fabulous book that somebody on here recommended to me. It's called "A Croft in the Hills" by Katharine Stewart. About a life far removed from shops and material things and snobbishness. Loving it.0

Ah yes, the eternal problem for chicken keepers - how to use up the eggs.... I only have 3 hens but they give me 21 eggs a week between them - and there is a limit to how many eggs my family will eat - I give away some to friends/neighbours etc, we had boiled egg for breakfast each this morning, I have made a cake (and nearly burnt it - but rescued it :j) and its a roast for tea today - so 2 eggs for the yorkshire pudding - but that still leaves me 14 eggs languishing in the fridge .....
Any ideas anyone?SMILE....they will wonder what you are up to...........;)0
