Anyone have a currently valid number for TL CS, other than 0871? None on Sayno work.0

Have just rung the hideous 0871 number. Was held for some time whilst listening to the website address TWICE, plus other irrelevant carp - nice little earner, TL - finally told to redial and choose a different option!! Faulty website and high rate number with not even a human to answer the inevitable queries - no wonder they can afford expensive ads!!
Come on, Martin, this is taking the pee.0 -
I filled out a "contact us" form last night, and included a screen grab of what was happening.
They basically emailed me and said "there have been no reported problems with the website". When i spoke to the receptionist at head office, she said to her collegue "i wonder what is wrong with the site" which, to me, implies that other people had been phoning saying that there was something wrong with it.0 -
Did you ring the 0871 number? It took ages to get to a person on that, lots of unnecessary notices, to pad out the time I think. They have admitted a problem, but are doing little to alleviate it.
The website before the previous website was better, you could see all of the London Lodges in one go, and I never had any booking errors like this and the previous one has.0 -
Something else i noticed about the old website. I was doing one of them find me the cheapest room searches.
I clicked on a room which said it was £23.50 but in actual fact once it took you to the travelodge of choice page it was only £19. I tried again with the next night which on the cheapest room search was showing at over £35 but when you actually clicked on it it was only £29. Just worth noting i thought.
I think both their websites need some maintanance. I certainly will not be booking anything until they are fixed.:mad:0 -
When I rang CS it turns out that the rooms showing on the website, that I managed to drag to checkout, were in fact unavailable. This was the case for 2 Lodges, I gave up after that.0

In despair after spending 2 hours on the website yesterday, I went into my friendly local Travelodge and spoke to the guy on reception, hoping he would book some rooms I wanted for my folks (over the Easter break). He wouldn't ring (i think he might have helped if it had been his TL I was wanting to book in) but gave the ludicrous 10p a minute number.....arggghhh.....
BUT he suggested I try the website again, and using the "Find cheapest rooms" button, choose EACH day in each room individually (from the screen with the orange buttons for saver rooms and blue buttons for flexible) and put them in the basket one by one. This was a pain, but it did work. I paid on VISA (not so worried about the £2 charge when spending £300...) and it seemed to go through OK.
Watch out though.........they will automatically tick Cancellation Insurance in the Extras even when you are booking a flexible room!
Alas for the good old days, when my local TL was an Innkeepers lodge and didn't take the money until you arrived.0 -
@Aloiseb, I had to do this same method to book 2 rooms for 2 nights in Covent Garden. What i am left worrying about now is are they going to insist on us checking out at 10am-12pm and check back in at 3pm with our luggage. Will infringe rather alot on our 2 days trip in London if so!! Had i added the rooms as one lot, the cost was coming in somewhere near £150 more!!

nerak, they won't do this, you will just be considered a guest staying 2 nights regardless of how you booked. I've done it many times. Unlike CS, I find the hotel staff in general quite human.0
