Issues loading funds to a Kalixa card

Hi everyone,
Hoping you can help me. I might be being a bit thick here… Just loaded some extra money to my brand new Kalixa card in order to book a Ryanair flight. I forgot that they’d taken £4.95 off the total balance for the annual fee, and so didn’t load quite enough. Anyway, tried to load more money and it won’t let me,. I keep getting a message saying their security settings don’t allow it. It gives the option to try with another card, which I have tried (with three!) and it still won’t allow me to put extra money on. Is there a one transaction in 24 hours rule, does anyone know? I read their Ts and Cs and can’t find anything.
Thanks for your help.

Ok, so just as a forewarning for anyone thinking of going for these cards. Just called them and was told that “unfortunately” their payment system has just gone down.
Their system sometimes (hmmmm) only allows one transaction in 24 hours. They have identified this as a problem but no one can fix it.
I was told I could use moneybookers, or another account (both of which take days for money to be loaded onto them.
Anyway, clearly, I am not happy, but thought it was worth warning others about this!0 -

Thanks for that info, looks like one to avoid.0 -
Yes, I now know that. It just doesn't state it in the Ts and Cs, which is extremely frustrating when using the website and the security error message doesn't give full details of what the problem is - why not say that? I admit it was my error not loading the right amount, but that was a genuine error. Anyway, I've missed out on what I wanted to buy now.
Don't want to get into a big debate on this, but I was very disappointed with the whole situation today.0 -
Hi, I was just wondering... Since there is an account number where you can send money (bank tranfer option) to load Kalixa - is it possible to pay into that account at the bank (barclays as it's b's account) ?0

Strange that Kalixaman says that you will be able to load funds three times a day when i am having the exact same problem as described above.
Trying to book flights today and have tried 4 different cards to no avail. Keep getting a security message saying security settings.
Any advice on how i might not miss out on flghts due to abother error Kalixman? or is this one to avoid?
I keenly await your response.......0 -
Seems like Kalixa have many problems that are only fixed when they get a mention on here.
I would avoid them.0 -
How can you say i will not have any more problems when i need to load the card today to ensure i can get the best price flights.
Alos, i went through over 2 hours of searching for flights and filling in passenger infomration only for your site to have yet another techincla issue...so i already have a massive problem.
I just called your customer support department at 30p per minute and spoke to them for 5 minutes. They informed that i need to wait 24 hours from today (as that was the last time i tried to load) before i can try and load again, by which time the flight price will most likely have changed.
They admitted this was another techcnial problem with your site ut offered no way round the 24 hour cool down.
Do you understand that the entire point of getting a Kalixa card is to avoid administration charges? If the costs have risen tomorrow by an amount equal to the admin charges (about £40) then the entire painful exercise of geting a Kalixa card and loading have been pointless. Your email responses take 48 hours. your call charges are 30p andsupport times are 1-5pm?
Your website is unresponsive and provides inadeqauate feedback on what this security issue is. It also doesnt expalin the cooldown period which invite peiople to keep on trying in the vain attempt that the transaction might actually go through...thus extending the amout of time they need to wait for the cooldown period.
I have probably spent £5 in total on calls to Kalixa as i also had to call in the application process due to another site error where you could not verify my documents.

Hi, I have been using my Kalixa card with no problems and must admit been really happy with it. I only ever load via my bank and do that online as no charge.
I was hoping Kalixaman is still about as wanted to check a couple of things. I am going to USA in 6 weeks and notice that Kalixa have now waived all charges - can you confirm that it really is free to use abroad except when making cash withdrawals?
Also, my travel agent told me that prepaid cards like Kalixa are not accepted in Vegas?? But in saying that he was trying to get me to take the travel agents pre paid card saying that one was accepted!!!!!!0 -
