Haha glad he enjoyed it! :)

By the way, your signature bit is dead right. My local housing concern centre is having it's funding pulled this year with the cuts and they do such a great job.

I'm hoping to do a coast to coast cycle ride this year to support them and raise a few quid.

    lol, why? :)

Viewing a number plate straight ahead in front would be simple.
Seeing objects ( cars/people etc ) approaching from the side would seem to me to be extremely difficult would it not ??

And before Tucker starts with his/her funnies again....

There is a Pilot, Captain not First Officer, that has one eye!

He works for a regional company, so flies internally in the UK.

I can't remember the details of why he is allowed, was told this by a school mate that is a First Officer at a regional airline.

The bloke in question lost his sight long after he qualified, not sure how he lost his eye, but it is fully declared.
  • hubby has only got one eye and as long as he doesnt take his glass eye out when he is driving he is fine.Think he had to wait six months before he got his license back.He lost his eye in a really bad pub fight, wrong place, wrong time just having a pint when all hell broke out and someone put a broken glass in his face.

Why, can he actually see with it ? :)

Surprisingly, that's not completely clear cut. With some forms of sight problems, yes there are difficulties. With others- like myself- despite having one eye, I've tested as having wider peripheral vision than average scores for someone with full sight. I do understand what you mean though- with some cases I'd imagine it would be a very difficult thing...
There's also the other end- the other senses compensate. I have better hearing than most of my family, and do think I have better spatial awareness.
TBH, It's probably made me a more careful driver- I am wary that I could be caught out, and can't risk assumption- I double and triple check. I'm aware of my blind spot, and do compensate for it. :)

12 years ago, my dad was registered blind in 1 eye, and when advising the DVLA he was advised he was perfectly fine to keep his licence.

not 100% sure, but it may depend on which eye it is, and obviously insurance will need to be advised (well, i presume!)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Any particular reason for thinking that??

Must admit you'd be struggling without the eyes in the back of your head tho' ;)
