12 years ago, my dad was registered blind in 1 eye, and when advising the DVLA he was advised he was perfectly fine to keep his licence.
not 100% sure, but it may depend on which eye it is, and obviously insurance will need to be advised (well, i presume!)

Yes, as long as a number plate can be read at the prescribed distance.
amazing that because my dad can see better than me.
I wear glasses, he doesnt but hes had his licence taken away from him because he has glaucoma. Yet his eye test and pressures are perfect. :mad:If You See Someone Without A Smile......Give Them One Of Yours0 -

As long as the DVLC and the insurance are aware of it then its fine to drive with only sight in one eye.
Presumably your dad is on medication for Glaucoma, hence his eyesight will be pretty normal, it means the medication is doing its job.
Reminds me of a teacher when my daughter was as school, she was very shortsighted and wore glasses to correct it.
Teacher say 'We make allowances for her on account of her shortsighedness' but in actual fact I told her there was no need because once the glasses are on, she has 20/20 vision. Common sense really.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Please, I presume he has two eyes, presumably has only the sight in one eye. You make it sound as if he literally has only one eye.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Yes. I've been driving for 13 years, and I have one eye.
As long as insurance and DVA know, there's no issue.0 -

As long as he can read a number plate at the prescribed distance, then he could appeal to have his licence reinstated.0 -

I have glaucoma controlled by drops. I am checked at hospital every 6-12 months. No one (neither hospital consultant nor optician) has ever suggested that I shouldn't drive.0
