I will keep my moneysaving hints to myself then, much better than trying to be helpful.

What if somebody had read that persons drivel and i hadn't stuck my nose in, exactly bad advice on the forum.

Sorry for biting kepar, i understand you are just trying to keep the forum on the straight and narrow.

I am leaving my previous post unedited, but i think that if you think my post lacks relevance then.please simply say so.

No need to be throwing out insults.

I agree with bigjl....not on everything, but certainly on the above issue.

For sure, the thread went off-topic.....but many statements were made....[some from an 'apparent' position of authority]....and some of these bordered upon urban myth.

    And these needed answering.

Otherwise, the next time someone cuts in on a thread, to politely ask how another person is faring, the individual concerned just might be requested to keep to the topic.......and move to the Inn?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • I was hoping to have some news for you by now, there is something happening to try and get these cards working but I don't know what stage Asda are at since I have not heard any news for just over a week now.

I have dropped the person who is dealing with this a line to ask for an update, I do want to share progress with you but I need to find out where they are at first so I am not getting hopes up this is resolved until I get some sort of confirmation.

In other words I'm still working on this and haven't forgotten you all.

  • Here's what you've been waiting for.

The cashminder cards should work now. I was unable to tell you this before as Asda ran a small trial for me and their development team to trial checking if it worked, if it hadn't it would be no good me telling you all so I hope you appreciate why I held that back.

Following the trial it has been rolled out nationally so go ahead and try it, post back here if you have any problems.

    A good result I think.

    Brilliant work CS!

I've only just caught onto this thread, my nearest and cheapest petrol station is an ASDA one and when I'm on my way to work is un-manned so I've had to get it more expensive elsewhere before. I'm going to have a go tomorrow morning!

Impressive work. What are you going to do next? :D

I would love to hear from anyone who has been to try it, this is a big change and although I know from this thread not everyone wants to use Asda petrol, they are the biggest retailer to set their prices nationally and in many areas (including mine) they are the cheapest supplier.

Next stop is insurance for bankrupts, remember that thread? I think it has been long enough since I sent my initial email to the ABI so a reminder is about due.
