I can't believe that the right to stay anonymous or keep information private is even being debated. 0  0

I don't think that anyone is saying that she doesn't have the right to keep her details private, she started this bragging about the painting. It just would have been nice to know whether the painting was genuine - I do understand however that she might be afraid of retaliation from the seller if they got wind of its supposed true value.0

So she has the right to keep private what she likes but people get upset or offended if she doesn't tell all?
I'm not having a go at you personally but it's a bit hypocritical! :rolleyes:0

No one is asking her to tell all, why bother to do all the bragging and update the thread and then get cold feet in case the seller finds out - thats hypocritical. No one here upset or offended, the posts on the original thread were fun to start with, then she started getting all nervy about who would find out what about her - I mean really who cares. It would have been nice to have heard that she had done well out of it, we had been playing guess the painting over a few days and it would have been fun to know whether any of us had spotted it. I have no clue about paintings, I wasn't interested in bidding on it, just a bit of fun. Certainly didn't plan to turn up on her doorstep with the seller. lol.0

Let alone anyone who cared to dig further into Norma's details.
But Norma doesn't go around insulting people on here she's a helpful soul.
(I occasionally do hence I change my posting name every so often ) )
But having just read the 2 posts below, hadn't occurred to me about someone telling the original seller about the pics true value and sending them a link to the original thread .
And this seller would have her address and possibly a grudge to bear.
So actually I take it back.
Probably a wise move to get it taken down and leave it month before revealing pics.0

People know my concerns about revealing personal information on here, ebay have too much info about us that can be tracked if a user id is known. We have on ocassions even had posters contact sellers and point them to a thread where their honesty is being questioned.
There are also several threads running on another board and on one someone listed something 'questionable' and it got removed very very quickly, suspiciously soon after she posted details on here.
This thread has been removed as per board guidelines.
Happy bidding to us all and may we all find a faberge egg or Rembrant in our searches one day!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm with soolin on this. I know on instances on another MB where people have given out too much personal information and then been tracked down/threatened. One personal rather stupidly used their very unusual first name as a username, so admittedly that was rather daft!!! LOL
Anyway, followed the original thread and just wanted to say best of luck to Norma MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000 MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

It would be great to have a happy ending to this painting saga, I have been following the thread with interest too, not in a threatening way I might add, it would just be nice to know that Norma found something amazing. But perhaps the painting wasn't what she thought it was and she is too embarassed to come back and tell us?
