Could just pay bills with BACS or Direct Debit rather than waste time paying with cash and cheque. Presumably this is why they introduced the fee - to discourage people creating huge queues to do something they could do a different way.

The only machine I know in London that gives out fivers is the one across the road from the McDonald's entrance to Waterloo Station, and that is a "Bank Machine" branded ATM. And they're almost always tatty old ripped ones

Are there any others?

never seen them machines dispense £5 notes
they are so knackered the one @ my local texaco everythings broken off! lol
