Lying ebay buyer

Impossible.
The signal antenna soldered to the main dock assembly (along with the main speaker, mic and dock flex)
The wi-fi antenna is pretty easy for them to pop out but only cost £2-3 to replace
Good luck with this OP, buyer sounds like a blagger0 -
Hi OP there is a chance you will get the phone back in the same condition you sent it in.
One trick going around on ebay at the moment in relation to mobile phones and other high end electrical equipment is to buy a broken device that is listed as broken from a seller when it arrives if it is easy, quick and cheap to fix keep the item and sell it on as refurbished.
But if it is expensive to fix or it cannot be fixed at all the buyer then opens a not as described case listing faults that were not on the listing and are probably not on the item either and returns it for a refund.
The buyer either ends up getting a cheap high end electrical item or their money back and only in some cases losing out on the return postage.0 -
Incredible.
eBay found in favour of the buyer, and I've just received the phone back.
It's not the same phone. Different serial number on the inside of the SIM tray, chips down the glass of the screen, the phone doesn't power on at all, and there is a rattling noise inside the case. The case doesn't even have the scratches that the phone I sent out does.
Currently on the phone to eBay as the resolution center only has an option of refunding the buyer - which needless to say I'm not gonna do without kicking and screaming!0 -
This is exactly the sort of buyer I've been talking about!! Using the one-sided ebay rules and regs to take advantage of sellers. Have a look at this thread here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/30894900

It gets even stranger.
I called eBay and told them about this.
The lady asked me to describe what happened, and when I explained it was a different phone, she said she would open a dispute and I would receive an email about it.
I left the house, and when I've got back, the only email I've got is that the buyer has been refunded and the case has been closed!
Should I open another appeal despite already having called them? Or is the dispute in their system, but just not visible to me yet?0 -
Won the appeal.
Poor communication by eBay, I now have the phone, and I don't have to refund the buyer!
From closer inspection, the phone has actually got the same serial number when I connect it to the PC as the one I sent, but the buyer had switched the front screen, the back case, and the sim-card tray.
The serial in the SIM tray belongs to a 3G, whereas the parts in the phone are a 3GS! But either way, I don't have to refund the buyer and I guess I'm now free to sell the phone on (although I'll wait a week or two to see if anything else transpires).
I can sell the phone as broken for about £85 to one of the recycling companies, so I'll take that as profit. Only thing is that the fees are outstanding, but the transaction has been refunded + appealed so I'll get in touch with eBay and see if they can scrap them.0 -

well done for taking ebay on and winning, its the first time ive ever heard of them siding with a seller! I wouldnt have let it go without a fight, either. I make a point of taking pics of my phone's IMEI numbers and including that pic in the listing itself to avoid getting scammed but its a shame there are so many dishonest buyers around.

If you're selling anything else make sure you block the scammer.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
