Calling cards cost mobile operators alot of money, someone along the line has to pay for the expensive international call, its not unusual for calling cards to be blocked by an operator, although usually the calling card number just stops working, instead of rerouting the call to the international number and then charging the customer
What utter tosh, the calls are virtually free of cost. You could use any of the Lebara / Vectone etc. type which are as low as 1p a minute to phone India (and elsewhere) from a a UK mobile. This is via VOIP as is Skype, which have calling plans as well.0 -
VOIP is totally different to international calling, your arguement doesnt make any sense. The main point is Vodafone or any other mobile operator doesnt support calling cards, the main reason being it costs them in lost revenue0

They may block the access numbers or charge extra for for calling these numbers. If they charge extra they must say this explicitly in their T&C.
BT would be happy to block 18185 and similar because 18185 provide much cheaper service and BT lose custom and profit. Fortunately, they are not allowed to do this.0 -
My mobile operator fully allows the use of my calling card0

Hi salars
I can see that this has been causing you some concern, and is an issue I would like to take a closer look at for you.
So that we can check the history of the account, please could you e-mail us via the Contact Us link on the Vodafone website, using WRT135 as the subject, posting a link to this thread, and a little more detail about the number(s) you call so that we can check through the bills to clarify if this has been correctly billed.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Simon

I rang Orange yesterday and they told me I'd be charged as though I'd dialled abroad, if I use a calling card 0203...
But what about dialacode which is currently advertised in Metro paper?0 -

Dialacode, using a special 6 digit access code, seems to even have an arrangement with Orange, Tmobile & 3. The 6 digit code can only exist with some sort of cooperation...
To prove the whole thing is not just a scam, can any MSE'er with more than 50 posts under their belt vouch for having tried this?0 -
